Foodies Unite #4 (trigger warning food) DON'T GO BACON MY HEART!

I’ve had a couple of spicy mornings! I’ve had these homegrown cayenne peppers drying in my basement since Summer/Fall of 2020 and finally got around to grinding them. Let’s just say my sinuses are super clear now, and this chile powder is hot and flavorful, definitely more potent than store bought. Fun stuff.

Nice!
What are you gone do with the seeds? Replant them?

And smart you are using gloves :sweat_smile: :flushed: :confounded:

No, I just threw the seeds away. I don’t have the ability to grow from seed in my small growing season and don’t really have the space to start from seed inside. Some people grind them up with the chiles, but I think they have a bitter taste, so I remove them when I can.

I was so lucky to have these gloves stored away! I had forgotten about them and checked my cleaning supply cabinet just in case and there they were!

Yeah if you want to grow proper chili’s you need space and allot of sun. I tried it ones on a sunny balcony… I ended up with 3 chili’s :blush:
I agree with you, don’t grind the seeds :+1:

I totally got it wrong! I usually scroll from the bottom, so I can guess whose food I am seeing. I totally guessed Eric. That is a beauty!!

The words, “a tiny little joint on Wilshire” make me so homesick. I don’t think I’d every want to live there again but I haven’t visited in so long. It’s hard to believe I used to spend two months a year away from this place. I do miss that.

@salty wow that ravioli looks amazing!
@Dazercat I’ve never had chicken and waffles either. I’m not against it, I just don’t understand the concept. :laughing:
@HoofHearted That burger looks incredible.
@ShadowFax Do you bake your crust soon after preparing the dough, or do you let it sit overnight before baking?

Love it. We use to call them Bagel Bundles at the deli. But we did ham and Swiss. Turkey ham. It was a kosher style deli. I did mine with jalapeño cheese. Everything bagels are the best!!

Ya it is. But it’s got bacon on it. So how bad can it be? It actually works well. I wouldn’t order it all the time. But it’s a fun one.

Lunch at the office. Took some leftover tuna and toasted in toaster oven on sprouted grain bread with double smoked aged cheddar. I had a boiled egg on the side but decided to throw that on too, plus some pea shoots

This is a happy sandwich. Have you ever had sunflower shoots/sprouts? They taste just like sunflower seeds. We love them (and so does our Netherland Dwarf rabbit).
