Thanks Eric! 12.40 here so firmly lunch. It’s one of my favorite things to make
I Lox
Me too. I’m a lox hound from way back.
Do you do with it with eggs?
Lox and onion omelette?
Actually I just scrambled my lox and onions with eggs now. It’s not as messy as when I flip an omelette all over my stove
My love for it started when I moved to NYC for college. On my walk to class I’d get an everything bagel (toasted), scallion cream cheese, and lox. And eat it on my 16 block walk. It was one of my favorite rituals.
I’ll do a fried egg on toast with lox BUT no omelettes or scrambled eggs! I don’t like them from some reason. Maybe it’s the cooked yolk!
But I’m right there on the combo
Perfect.
I started my lox journey in London. It was the 9 pm snack sent up from the kitchen to the bartenders. It was so gross. I couldn’t believe people ate this shit. At 18 and living on my own. Free food!! I learned to loved it. Especially on a fresh baguette with purple O and lemon and pepper.
I have not tried that brand. One of my favorite memories in Oaxaca was picking up chocolate from the shop where a giant wheel of the stuff was in the window, almost like a wheel of cheese! And the flavor and texture…yes. Plus the ritual of preparing it. I loved the chili and cinnamon essence. And mole is one of my favorite Mexican dishes, of course with chocolate.
You are going to tell me sometime the story of how you came to be a bartender in London.
It SOUNDS so good and like a pretty elevated family meal if you ask me haha.
That sounds amazing! Much more memorable than opening a package of hot chocolate mix and microwaving it with water. More delicious too.
That looks lovely
Capers and arugula, all day.
Chicken, celery, green pepper curry w/ a homemade Kohlrabi spicy side and rice + of course little poppadoms. So tasty!
I’m so intrigued! Looks lovely and warming. Is the kohlrabi cooked? I’ve only ever eaten it raw.
Yes! @RosaCanDo I found a proper recipe of it cooked almost like a dry potato curry style and IT’S SO SO GOOD! I will find the link if you are interested? I cooked it at the weekend and then crisped it up in the air fryer for a Bombay potato crust on it. Super good as some times my vegetable box delivers a lot of Kohlrabi and this means it’s not just coleslaw now
Yes please! I love it and we get a lot of great, young and tasty kohlrabi here. Thanks!
Of course you cover it in dill
I assume that’s dill.
Stick that with my arugula
