Clearing out everything before we head out of town. The kids were happy to pig out this morning.
That cake looks delicious! But is it watching you when you’re cutting slices?
CILANTRO ! So I’ve read it’s only 8-15% of people that have a gene that makes cilantro taste like soap. Not a little bit, it tastes like someone shaved a bar of Ivory Soap or squirted Dishwashing liquid all over my food. I’m in that group, my son is also. Curious, any other CILANTRO soap haters?
The is for Minnie, not cilantro
I was never a big cilantro fan until I worked at The Mag. They use it in tons of stuff. I kind of got use to it as an accent. And it adds spice. They had a creamy spicy cilantro salad dressing that ended up being my favorite and it doubled as a chip dip. My wife is not a big fan. But I don’t think she thinks it taste like soap.
And the black bean tacos were one of my wife’s faves. I was actually surprised.
I love cilantro my mum had it growing like crazy in the garden when I was a kid and I would gobble it up while hanging in the garden with her. Peas, rhubarb, & dirty carrots too
Lettuces, spinach, and arugula, green beans and salmon
Lots of nice food… @anon9289869 so nice to see you ( and your tacos) up and around after your surgery! @Dazercat she is saying "I want a taco! "
Everyone have good days!
We call that coriander over here in Oz and nope not a fan at all either I have to pick it out if its on my food, totally ruins a meal for me lol.
I did a coriander shrimp for my wife about 35 years ago. Trying to impress her. I’m still not allowed to cook shrimp.
The eyes follow you around the room lol
That looks delicious! Question: how are you cooking the salmon? the crisp on there is amazing! I get a really decent crust when I cast iron pan in, but it’s really just two sides and it gets a little too dark sometimes. Any details would be greatly appreciated!
Sometimes you have one of those days, and you eat a piece of cheesecake with your hands.
My tasty chocolate cheesecake that kiddo & I made the other day.
This is true! I feel so sorry for those folks - my dad being one of them. And he married a Mexican woman (my Mami) and was fed copious amount of cilantro on tacos, tortas, sopes, etc when he first visited her family in Mexico City and felt like he had to eat it! Growing up we always had it on the side to add as we pleased. I can’t get enough, honestly.
God bless your Dad, that is true love!!
Scrambled eggs with this beautiful firm tomato and mixed cheddar cheeses. My grandfather’s home fries. Secret tip? Always bake more potatoes than you need for leftovers to be used in home fries. With some onion salt and pepper and paprika. Salsa. And rye toast with cream cheese.
Afternoon Mocktail @ELY83 I liked the other one I posted better. Elixir #4
Have you heard of these Emilie?
@mleclaire I saw the other day you liked to have Mocktails in the house. My wife bought a variety pack.
