My version of Dutch Stamppot… Sweet Potato, Spinach, Olive Oil
Cranberries and Blueberries!

@Juli1 love your Borscht… it is quite a comfort food for me, have made quite a bit although not lately… first from the “Moosewood Cookbook” and then like most my cooking, free hand without a recipe, Beets, Potato, … Beets and Cauliflower too…

Also used to make Koch Kase( cooked cheese), which of course is entirely a different story. Used to be able to get the starter at the grocery store. Always w the caraway. For years it was the prominent food for receptions after funerals or other local, social gatherings. Sandwiches made with the Koch Kase.

Easy like Sunday morning. Prepping for a big day of exams and papers.

We get breakfast included in our stay at this state resort park at the lodge, but it’s about as heavy an American breakfast as you can imagine. We did the full shebang the first morning we were here - sausage AND bacon, scrambled eggs, fried potatoes, biscuit and sausage gravy…and nope, can’t do that every morning! It was a fun treat, though, but just once is fine. So today it’s bagel and cream cheese with blueberries on the porch in a sunbeam listening to the birdsong all around. We’re making ribs later and I’ll try to remember to take a pic.

I survived breakfast with my MIL. I tried to tune out her conversations of politics, Covid and taxes :face_exhaling:

I can get through pretty much anything if I have sausage AND bacon!

Unfortunately it wasn’t hot any more when I got it :sob: Ordering food on a Sunday is like playing the lottery. Could be good, could be bad.
Not glutenfree btw, there isn’t any restaurant here that offers this. But my belly and skin are fine so I gave it a go :yum::heart:

Brunch out; tried this.

It was good. But kinda greasy. Just like chorizo I guess. :man_shrugging:

Tried some refried beans and pintos, on wifey’s request, instead of the usual black beans, in the veggie fajitas. Taste good. But texture and looks? Not so much.
