Making things up as I go and once I tasted it I kept eating it from the pot making lots of mmmm noises. It might not look like much but was perfect for me.
Roasted butternut squash pureed with garlic, lots of sage, cashews, nooch, mustard powder, coconut milk, and a bit of cayenne to make a creamy sauce. Mixed with quinoa penne and broccoli.
I’ve made a lot of beet borschts, butternut squash soups and pumpkin soups. To thicken the borscht I could add potato which added nutrients and smoothness. The pumpkin snd butternut oftentimes had cream, cheese, or something else to make it smoother plus I always used the immersion blender which was easier than the old way of using the standing blender.
If you want a see through purple soup, then cheese cloth, sieve etc.
Thank you very much, @Anatelo.lisbon , I think so too! Welcome to Talking Sober. Congrats on your sober journey. Lots of support here. We have fun posting here on the food thread.
I Googled it.
“A modern paleo diet includes fruits, vegetables, lean meats, fish, eggs, nuts and seeds. These are foods that in the past people could get by hunting and gathering. It doesn’t include foods that became more common when small-scale farming began about 10,000 years ago. These foods include grains, legumes and dairy products.”
While I thought about posting this in the avid readers thread…I thought it might be more appropriate here! Has anyone here read “Blood, Bones and Butter” by Gabrielle Hamilton? I read it a long time ago in book format, and then was called to download the audible version about three months ago. I’m already on my second listen of it. While I’m usually a fan of reading books, listening to the author was especially rewarding here. She is no nonsense while still idealistic. A poet and a work horse simultaneously. Hearing her stories about her childhood, the kitchens she’s worked in and run and her messy life outside the restaurant world are deeply satisfying to me. Anywho….if you love food and reading…I highly recommend❤️ (Pic of her homemade ravioli for attention)
It’s so rare that we get good avocados in my area so having a few on hand takes a lot of self control to not eat them all at once. I want them with everything!
Avocado ezekiel toast with fried eggs, sautéed mushrooms & onions, fresh cherry tomatoes that our csa just offered the last of from their greenhouse before they close down for the winter, field roast maple apple veg breakfast sausages, blueberries, & clementine.
How odd it feels eating such fresh foods while there’s a thick blanket of fresh snow on the ground outside. Grateful to have access to these foods.
Cereals… No, cereals are excluded in paleo. There is a good german site called paleo360.
As I am healing my eating disorder I am no more avoiding food groups in total, despite of the allergics and inflammation prophylaxis.
But Paleo has some well being recipes.
I like it as It natural based.
