Hash Kitchen
I built my own egg white veggie frittata.
Stir fried green cabbage, bell peppers, snow peas, bean sprouts and green onions and extra firm/extra protein tofu (marinated with soy sauce, hoisin, sesame oil, rice vinegar, chili sauce, ginger and garlic, and lime juice - marinade used to build sauce). Bright and fresh flavors, VERY gingery. Topped with cilantro, sriracha and squeeze of lime.

To me, porridge is just cooked oatmeal. Some might cook the water and the oatmeal in a pot stirring it, or cook it in the microwave. To me porridge is what the British may call it And the Americans would just call it oatmeal.
Google says porridge can be boiling:cooking any grain, oatmeal or another.
Once upon a time, I am guessing about the year 2000, or a few years after, I entered a dessert contest that wanted elegant, I believe, holiday or winter desserts, something like that.
The prize was a trip to Paris.
My mission and intent was to make a cranberry dessert without any added sugar.
It has always griped me that every time cranberries are involved so is a lot of sugar.
I made a compote that had Asian pears, oranges and I no longer remember what else for a sweet addition to the cranberries.
It was wonderful! Fragrant, tasty, healthy.
I added that you could use cherries, fresh or frozen, for the same dessert and could eat it hot out of a bowl, or even beside ice cream, another dessert or even cheese, for instance.
I perfected my recipe and sent it in fully expecting to win.
Guess what>???
They picked another cranberry compote! ( the only other one)
So clearly they liked the idea but balked at the sugar free of mineā¦
Yesā¦ they picked one laden with a ton of sugarā¦
Did I drink over it?? No
Thanks for listeningā¦
This pic is what I had this eveā¦ frozen blueberries with freshly bought cranberries that I froze the other day. I microwaved them for a few minutes and stirred them together and it was just wonderful! The sweetness of the blueberries mellowed out some of the tartness of the cranberriesā¦
Bon appetit everyone
@RosaCanDo your dinner (this eve I think) looked So Goodā¦ as your food always doesā¦
@Dazercat proud of you for your effort to lower your numbers, you are doing a great job
@Laurielee that looks great! What all is in there? Looks like salmon, barley? almost like caviar or black berries or beans?? I cant see the pic while I type.
My eyes may be bigger than my stomach this morningā¦half of this will probably be a mid morning snack later. Bagel, one half cream cheese and one half peanut butter with blueberries. Earl grey tea.
That sounds really good!
Did you go into the kitchen and tell the chef, how to do it?
That is a very cool marinade. Usually, I only use soy sauce.
And I think I needed more soy sauce in mine! Next time.
I will try to make your version of cranberry compote with my Thanksgiving mealā¦it sounds amazing
Asian pears
Oranges
Cranberries
Cherries
Right?
Mixed vega coconut almond protein & cocoa powder into this morningās oats. Topped with a dollop of coconut cream, peanut butter, flax seeds, banana, cranberries, and a drizzle of honey.
I cannot believe some of the stuff you put in your oats and I would never do most of them. But peanut better and honey That sounds right up my alley. Keep posting your whacky oats. I love seeing them.
I got some oat bran planned for today but I got to use up those fresh strawberries I got.
Question on the flaxseeds?
Iāve read their good for lowering the cholesterol. Do I have to grind them up first? Looks like you just got them in there whole.
ha I mean theyāre just a good carb base pretty flavorless on their own so I do it up and go all out trying flavors with them. My mum brought us up on pretty standard over cooked thick oatmeal with raisins & brown sugar, sometimes apples. It got boring fast.
One rule of thumb I live by.
Never ever. Eva! Tell a chef āhow to do it.ā
At this stage of my life I like boring. A lot
The seeds could be a texture thing for me.
Although Iāve learned to like pine nuts in my salad.
I donāt grind mine but I donāt have a problem with textures/seeds. I love seedy things. Thereās a lot you can do with them ground though too. Itās really all preference.
