I went with the pork and black bean chili. It definitely works in this weather.

I’d offer you some but I know you don’t do jalapeño’s :wink:

Edit. No cheese. No Frito pie fixins. No sour cream.
And it was still great :+1:

I have to admit I’ve been thinking I ought to try them again…it’s been so long. Though I’ve eaten plenty of Jalapeño poppers. You can’t taste them when they’re stuffed and fried!

When you’re awake in the wee hours of the morning sometimes a wee snack is required. Slice of French bread with salted butter and a wee bit of sour cherry jam. Not pictured is a mug of Ceylon orange pekoe tea.

Today’s “up at 4 for no good reason” special is more French bread with cream cheese and orange fig jam this time. Enjoying it in my little den listening to the freezing rain on the window. Brr!

Breaded butterfly shrimp with roasted Brussels sprouts and red bell pepper. Near the end I threw in some raw slivered almonds. A little over toasted but I like them like that :laughing:

Blueberry apple yoghurt with the last of the honey from my Morrocan trip.

Waste not, want not. I topped the rest of my quesadilla from last night with the most beautiful egg I’ve seen in a while. Organic free-range eggs are in short supply here so I had to try a new brand and it was amazing. So tasty!

Your slivered onions look suspiciously like almonds :face_with_hand_over_mouth:. Looks terrific. Unless you’re an Ol Guy with gout and high cholesterol :joy:
:pray:t2::heart:
But I’ve read those Brussels are great cholesterol busters.

Haha! Thanks, I didn’t even notice the typo. I corrected. They are in fact almonds :joy:
The sprouts are great for liver health too!

Seared salmon (perfectly rare in the middle thick bit) on a quinoa and baby spinach salad with cucumber, radishes, scallions and a jammy egg. Splash of soy sauce on the fish and topped with sweet spicy chili sauce. :drooling_face::drooling_face::drooling_face:
