Xmas dinner again today

Beautiful! I love this so much. Learning family dishes is as much an heirloom as a fancy piece of furniture.

My fella has off work till after new years so there will likely be lots of food posts…today is an open faced muffin with ham AND bacon, two eggs and Colby cheese. Mayo and mustard. I had about half that, no condiments. I feel like I need a salad.

Actually, I thought it would be stronger. But for the quantity of flour (350gr) it wasn’t much.
I’ll use an entire star the next time. You can, too. Or at least 3/4 of it. Don’t forget to use the cinnamon, clove and muscat nut (I’m not sure if it’s called that :-))))
Though I like spicy food, salty or sweet, I didn’t want to exaggerate, because I knew my son would take some in his lunchbox to share with his friends and usually kids don’t like strong flavors of tht kind.

Thank you for sharing! :heartpulse:

Sea food Friday last week.

Scallops with plum sauce and sesame seeds to start

Salmon fillet with honey, chilli, ginger and lime for mains

Apple and blackberry crumble with Scottish Vanilla ice cream

I even wrote a menu card for my guests which was a bit of a laugh at a conversation we were having, I wouldn’t normally do that.

Will be eating leftovers today!

Warm quinoa salad with sauted mushrooms and apple. Trifecta of roasted veg: beets, yams, and butternut squash. Maple tahini dressing and finished with pomegranate and goat cheese crumbles. GF and meatless, and would be vegan except for those crumbles

Trying to eat less processed foods so learning to make my own crackers! Wild rice with rosemary and himalayan salt.

Boxing Day here. Not much opened in my area, but Pizza Hut was  Hubby offered to go pick up as it’s still a bit stormy and messy out there (we’re too rural for delivery) so it was nice to not have to cook! Hawaiian, which is pineapple, ham, bacon crumbles (on Alfredo base for me)

TIERRA VEGGIE BURGER
Black bean patty, pepper jack cheese, lettuce, tomato, purple onions, and chipotle aioli on telera roll.
Glad I got the brown :grimacing: avocado on the side. I like avocados but not inside things. Or brown ones :grimacing:
With charred veggies.

Dude, that avocado doesn’t look that bad! I’d have tasted it…sometimes it tastes better than it looks. I’ve had bad luck with avocados lately and it makes me sad. :disappointed:

I am 45 minutes from a grocery store, I also eat half an avocado a day, even jumbo ones. For a long time, 15 years or more, I have bought the hardest avocados at the store and refrigerated them in the cheese/meat little crisper place. I wash them with soapy water because a friend caught a community pneumonia that almost killed him. The CDC said at the time, that he could’ve gotten it “off of avocados” at the grocery store.
I always have nice beautiful avocado. These are in varying degrees of ripeness. This works for me. I rarely have ones that have gone bad.

For the most part I do not eat sugar or cheese… cheese more so than sugar. I have had two unopened containers of low fat eggnog in the fridge. 140 calories for one half cup. The expiration date was today so I decided to pour some out so I could freeze them. And enjoy a little bit of it too. I did and took a pic, putting the two bottles in the freezer.
I opened the freezer a little later and had a little more. Ugh. Just a little.
Then I was washing the dishes. Washed the goblet. Then washed an omelet pan, lost my grip on it, it went flying, knocked the goblet off the stem, broke the base in half and if there’s more glass around I have not been able to find it. Need to wash all the silverware in the silverware drawer. I may never drink any eggnog ever again.
Is this Karma or what>???

That “was” a pretty goblet
Sorry about all the glass.
Don’t go barefoot.

Thanks for the avocado tips.
