Gardening In Recovery

Lil baby peppers are so cute! And look at those blossoms coming in around it. That is a happy looking plant!! Definitely doing better than my bell peppers.

I had a new fence put along the side of my drive, when they put it in it left a gap about foot wide all the way down the side, I didnt know what to do with it so I just went out and bought a big box of wild flower seeds, thinking most of them wouldnt take I put the whole box down there and have been watering them when needed.
Well after a few weeks of it just looking messy and like I’d been lazy with weeding, they’re all starting to bloom. I’m so excited because most of them are still tightly closed buds and I have no idea what kind of flowers they’re going to be
I know some will be poppies like in one of these pictures but they rest will be a surprise. I’m really glad I went for it now it’s so pretty and the bees love it :smiling_face_with_three_hearts::honeybee::tulip::blossom::sunflower::hibiscus::wilted_flower::rose::rosette:

We cut the top off an old rooftop antenna that has been in my aunt’s yard to now be repurposed as a pea tower

Finally! Some ground cherries :eight_spoked_asterisk:

First year growing celery. Everything is looking happy after the feeding last week

I’m loving this Strawberry Mint, sweet and bright in flavor.

We were going to build one raised bed this year… I’m currently at six 🤦😳

Sounds like how my garden plans always go! “Only” two tomato plants…I have 6 now! Everything looks lovely.

Ha! I’m literally over-drying tomatos in my dehydrator right now to experiment grinding them into tomato powder because there’s just always too much! Even after giving away and freezing and jarring, and sauces, and salsas  I always end up gardening for a family of 18 even though it’s just my partner and I.

Same! I am about to make tomato basil sauce for spaghetti and meatballs with tomato sauce I made last August…it’s been in the freezer and I hope still good. That’s one of the main reasons I bought a chest freezer. Just my partner and me also.

Let me know how your experiment goes, very intriguing.

First poppy is open!

Also heres my climber, I’ve been training it up my fence for 3 years, it was a 6" tall baby when I got it, it survived the old fence being moved too which I was happy about, I was really worried it was going to snap as it only has a small main stem.
Only issue with it is, the flowers open onto the other side of the fence (I think because its sunnier there?) So I can’t really see them from my garden :sob::sweat_smile: nice for the neighbour’s though I guess :woman_shrugging::laughing:

Lovely! My neighbor also has a clematis I can see from my bedroom window and this year it is finally poking out both sides so they can also enjoy it! Theirs is slightly lighter in color - yours is gorgeous!

So…my cayennes appear to be a variety I’m not familiar with. Gnarly!

Success!

Took forever to dry them completely but the powder is so intense. Delicious, sweet, tomato-ey? umami flavor. I’m anticipating using it on garlic toast and eggs a lot. I used it as part of a rub on chicken tonight and wow.

Looks great! I love horseradish. Have never grown it before though.

Awesome! Do you have a dehydrator? I don’t and I sure don’t need another kitchen appliance…but I have a good toaster over and regular oven I could try using.

Late night repotting of my lemongrass. It’s lovely weather here right now so I’m taking advantage of it.
