Question on the tomatoes… I can’t quote tell but it looks like you have the cage on some and the stake on all. Do you prefer doing both? Is staking them good enough?

Tomato cages are terrible and I hate them. My aunt shares this garden space with me and this is actually her tomato bed that she put the cages into. They weren’t really supporting but rather making a poor attempt at containing. I added the stakes to help fix it. I normally just do twine with tomato clips and keep each plant singular, snipping out the suckers, and the better airflow then means less disease and better harvest.

My tomato planting is actually under an arch with better spacing and tend to grow about 6-7 feet tall. I’ve been growing them with clips for about 4 years now and I swear by it. I’ll take a look through old photos for a better example of my previous year supports.

You captured the bee perfectly! I love bees. They’re such wonderful little creatures.

Oh I love the amount of chamomile you have its lovely.
I have some growing only a small patch but Its going so well and I read the more you pick the flowers the more they grow so this morning this was my first chamomile harvest  and some lemon balm to make a teapot full for the day

I’m learning slowly.
Your garden is amazing

Yay that lemon balm looks lovely and I was starting to wonder how your chamomile and everything is doing! Glad to see you were able to get a first harvest. It is true the more you harvest, the more energy the plant can put in to forming new flowers.

I cannot keep up with harvesting all the chamomile I have growing. A lot has gone to seed and dropped into the path so it’ll likely keep growing crazy like this next year. I used to think the chamomile harvesting rakes looked silly but I have been thinking about getting one now that I have this much. I need to setup a better area for drying more at once.

I might put it into the ground then so next year and so on it just grows.
Yes if seen the harvest takes they look good if you want to get some to dry.
I was looking a t mini dehydrated, but I did see on you tube a sun dehydrator that was like a metal case, you have the space for that. No sure if you have seen them ?
I tried to find a pic but it was literally silver metal and a box and the direction you put the metal helps dry out the chamomile. I’m sure you know all this already but just incase. A small home dehydrator would take you ages and cost a fortune with all that chamomile hehehe.

I braved the 110 heat index for a quick garden stroll and a bit of cheering up (been in bed with migraine/sinus infection but today is better). The rain we finally got and the heat are working their magic! Red bell peppers, shishitos and cayennes, tons of tomatillos, my first cucumber and zucchini, a handful of green beans needed picking, and the dahlias growing well! I need a cool morning to get out and do some work ASAP!

I’m (very) late planting in some of my raised garden boxes. Oops! But one box that is planned to put beets/carrots is riddled with ants. Some googling says it’s ok as they can aerate the soil, and tend not to go after the roots etc. Think I should just plant the seeds, or try to get rid of the ants first?

Check it out @SassyRocks - I propagated some coleus just for fun! And my plant outside bloomed.
