  1. Kind and patient husband who walks the dog when I’m in pain

  4. Day 1 of my husband not drinking for his month off alcohol
  5. A healthy and happy 3 year old niece, 3 years today!

Today I am grateful for

  1. A job that cares enough to do performance reviews - I am grateful they are over and I am getting a decent raise
  2. My relationship with my sister and being able to help support her while she goes to college
  3. Friends that check up on me and genuinely care
  4. Leftover tomato soup (because unlike @RosaCanDo I do not have the energy to cook :crazy_face:)
  5. Little cozy moments in my home like walls full of plants cast in tiny rainbows from sun catchers that dance in the wind of an open window at sunset

  1. That my 11 year old dog still plays like a puppy with her squeaky toys, loves when it’s walk time and jumps in excitement, and gets the zoomies!
  2. For naps and more naps
  3. For my hobby garden, farmer’s markets, and a passion for preserving goodies for the winter months and beyond
  4. For leftovers after a busy day
  5. For Friday of a three day holiday weekend and my husband’s commitment to stay sober

Grateful tonight

  1. My health, making it possible to commute on my bike to and from work.
  2. My job in the detox that gives me the opportunity to give some back of what I was given.

  1. Dawn on my deck, alone, sipping tea and watching the morning arrive, visited by a hummingbird and listening to squirrels in the walnut tree.
  2. Ability to keep learning about myself all the time, forever.
  3. A trip to a lake and woods today, picnic and some hiking.
  4. Reconnection with my husband, my best friend, and admitting we sometimes feel lonely together.

Grateful!

  1. Waking up without a hangover after a three-day holiday weekend
  2. Waking up next to my husband who is also hangover-free after he stayed sober!
  3. A headache/migraine free morning
  4. All the things I “get” to do today that will keep me busy are things I enjoy doing
  5. Starting a new book that I know I will enjoy after reading just the intro.

Today I am grateful.

  1. I slept through the night for about 5-6 hours.
  2. Chronic insomnia teaches me to value quality sleep. It has required me to learn how to be disciplined in evening routines to help ensure I’ve set myself up for getting to sleep. This lesson in discipline is transferrable to other areas of my life!
  3. The conversation with my husband about his habits around alcohol and how he wants to be sure his activities and relationships don’t revolved around drinking.
  4. Perfect sleeping weather with the windows open!
  5. A love of cooking.

  2. My insomnia streak seems to have broken after putting back in place wind down routines
