Actually feeling pretty proud of myself right now. Woke up at 530am for my workout. Am following this program that I read in this book. I just needed to be told what to do when it came to exercises and cardio etc. Today I completed this workout. They call it Modified Compound Supersets where u do 1 set each of 2 exercises with a 60 sec rest in btwn. Then repeat. My weights are lower than I used to do. Iām averaging around 15lb dumbbells for most exercises except for back or stiff legged deadlifts (where I can do abit heavier weight). Did a warm up and stretch 1st (which I used to always neglect), my workout, and then i did a wind down and another stretch. Will be doing some yoga in the afternoon. Felt really good tho doing it! Iām even keeping track of my workouts and recording my foods (not calculating macros but I am looking at calories and portion sizes). For my diet I am trying to focus on lower carb (and when I do eat carbs, to have them as complex carbs), lots of veg, increased protein, minimal dairy, and decreased sugar intake. Ya so, so far so good! Also weighed myself today after my workout.
Lucky! Iām still waiting for them to open in Quebec
Any runners here? Iām not a gym goer but about to start training for my 4th marathon and hoping for some pals for motivation! Sunday is day 1 ( I have to do it quickly as itās in April!!)
4th marathon! Thatās great! Youāll find some runners around here. Iām working on getting to a half marathon distance at the moment.
Every time I get on the treadmill I want to run, I imagine running in the streets, I dream of doing a 5K one dayā¦
I can do it if I keep up the gym and keep losing weight, also have to lose the self consciousness about being fat and running.
You will get there. When I started to run I couldnāt run for more than a minute maybe. And it took me a good 17-18 minutes to get through a mile. Iāve been working out for a bit over 5 years now. It just takes time.
I look forward to the day you run a 5k
Thank you that is wonderful encouragement!
Well! Day 2 workout complete! Woke up at 530am⦠went back to bed. Thankfully I naturally woke up at 6am so I could get my workout in. Cardio and abs killed me
Makes me really see how out of shape I am. From being able to run for an hour straight with a slight incline (8 years ago)⦠to now being able to do no more than 15 min of HIIT⦠my endurance and stamina have decreased dramatically. And abs!.. they are worse then burpees (which I despise lol). Did 2 sets of 10 for lying leg lifts and 2 sets of 10 for crunches. Body is sore from yesterdays workout too. Oh well! Iām getting back at it! Logged my breakfast and drank tons of water. Feeling effin fantastic!!
Did some real light benching today, only a few sets. It felt nice, Iām slowly on my way back.
Nice! I actually havnt run for ages and Iām slow. I put on about 3 stone in the pandemic. I really think the me of a few years ago would have hated me and how I look. Itās sad but sometimes Iād give anything to go back to what I was. Good luck with your running! I start this weekend.
I have a long run planned for Saturday.
Iām also a āslow runnerā but if it works donāt fix it, right
Sooo proud of myself right now! Went to the gym today⦠3rd day in a row! That in itself is an accomplishment for me! But I also did legs! I have always struggled with legs⦠Iām not a fan of squats or lunges in particular. I have had bad knees for some time and I avoided them due to this fact. Anyway⦠I did Dumbbell Squats, Lunges with body weight, PliĆ© Squats, and Calves. My legs are shaky
Can barely stand up from a sitting positon. I cant believe I overcame my fear of Lunges especially!
Oh interesting⦠thank u
I wouldnāt have thot of that!
Happy healthy Thursday! Back and biceps done!
Woot.
Letās all keep loving our bodies.

There is no such thing as I CANāT DO, Change comes with time, hard work and patience! Change your thoughts to I PRESENTLY STRUGGLE DOING and just keep showing up, keep trying, keep pushing.
Until you push past what you thought was possible youāll never achieve the impossible!
Looking good @TMAC!
I love the Unicorn vibe!
Can imagine the looks in the gym with that. I used to get the same when I went wearing my āWorlds greatest Daddyā t-shirt, itās was bright pink, my daughter got me it when she was 3 for Fatherās Day especially for when I exercised!
Workout was average today. Today was cario and abs. Had to switch to a diff cardio machine bcuz I was using my asthma inhaler too much on the elliptical. My lungs are just not strong enough yet to do HIIT on the elliptical. So I chose the Recumbent Bike. Did 15 min of HIIT on that. Then 2 sets of lying leg curls and crunches. My abs were still sore from w days ago! I struggled doing abs today
Anyway I pushed thru. Counting my caloric intake today. Struggling to get my protein up and decrease carbs. Iām also making sure breakfast and lunch have more calories so that Iām not starving by supper and then eating too fast and too much
Morning!!
Day 5 Workout
Today was warm up and weights! Legs are beginning to feel stronger. I think I will be taking weekends off tho. My muscles are incredibly sore. Plus I work normally anyway so it makes for very little time to exercise. I havenāt done 5 days in a row of workouts in a VERY long time. Today wasnāt the greatest workout but I am striving towards consistency and routine and just getting TO the gym. I do push myself at the gym but I want to build healthy habits of just getting there too lol
My goal is to lose 50lbs. I also want to build muscle and increase my endurance and stamina. Not to compete or anything, but just to feel overall healthier and look better
what about u?
Wow!! Thank u sooo much for taking the time to write stuff out and explain about ur journey. Thatās incredible!!! Uv obviously found what has worked for u! I appreciate the advice!
My journey was been up n down with my weight. Growing up I was healthy and slim and then as I grew up as a young adolescent I started gaining weight. Then with mental health at 15 I started using drugs. Once I got into harder drugs at 16 I became sooo unhealthy⦠very thin. At 21 I was introduced to 12 step meetings and I gained a whole 3 years of recovery but I also gained 100 lbs in 1 year due to switching addiction to food. After that 1 āyear of eating I started working out at home and then eventually got the nerve to work out at a gym⦠which thru that, I got a job as a front desk worker for Shapes Fitness. I met many bodybuilders and exercisers who helped me with my fitness and weight lifting. I lost about 80lbs or so. It became an obsession tho. It was actually unhealthy. I worked out at least 2 hours a day, minimum 6 days a week (7 if I could). Iād sometimes go twice a day. Iād prep meals every week and count calories and macros. I developed an eating disorder due to having such a strict diet. I somehow got back into using drugs (hence my relapse at 3 years clean). Working out wasnāt about health⦠it was filling a void and dealing with my emotions. I would work out and oush myself TOO much. Running injuries on my knees and id get super upset if I didnāt FEEL like my workout was good enough. Iād over do it and honestly I donāt think I had full knowledge of lifting bcuz I was 180lbs in this pic and yes⦠Iām slim but I have like no muscle definition. And the amount if work that I put into lifting weights was ridiculous lol I shoukdve out on muscle. It takes work for me to think of working out and eating in a different way now. Even today, my workout was not the greatest and it was eating at me. But I had no more time to workout, I had to go. So I have to deal with my thots. U know how addicts will chase a high trying to get that feeling⦠thatās me with exercise⦠I chase that strong, confident, good workout feeling. Iām trying to remember that itās progress not perfection. And I focus on consistency. I am about 50lbs overweight so my goal is to get healthy and fit and strong
this pic is much older and it was when I was at my āhealthiestā. I wonāt get back to that, nor do I really want to. I just want to feel good and be healthy and strong and have some definitely and muscle. Thank u SO much tho for helping and writing what u did! I learned alot!!
