I suppose I could post my updated gym pic. Loving the squat rack. It’s so much better than picking up the weight off the ground. All I need now is my treadmill and my gym will be complete

Me too I love your Squat rack!
if you get add ons, get spotter arms. So you can go heavy and go deep and there’s security. xx
I put the spotter arms on my list. It’s the next thing I’ll get! I don’t have enough plates to go super heavy yet. I only have enough to go up to 85 and I’m stuck at 55 currently
Also you should 100% put a mirror right in front of your rack. Very important for posture checking and keeping it tight during the movement. I finally got my new mirror last week and been able to squat safely again. Not been able to squat “heavy” (my heavy) for months since first injury then I moved my home gym around, I’m only squatting for reps atm and improving form, but having the new morrow immediately I feel better again. Home gym updates are the best!
*Like a big mirror down to the floor
wow … that is a lot of pounds… I like this measuring and keeping track idea and can use it everywhere is one’s life. Progress not perfection.
The app has really been a great addition to my lifting/fitness routine. For over a decade I was just using the notes app on my phone. There was a time towards the very beginning where I didn’t track anything.
Even with using the notes app, it didn’t drive progress. I might look at the previous week, might not. I was typically just kinda staying put. Then I got the app a little over a year ago and it has helped me push a bit from week to week, especially in 2025.
Being a data/stats guy, I’m just a sucker for visualization through graphs, etc.
My wife says I need to smile more, but it’s hard when you are focused… believe it or not this was after my absolute best session in gym (today) where everything felt great. I was very happy!
Hope you are smiling now. Looking great!
I’m always smiling, except when I’m trying to take a picture it seems. Haha
Obviously scaled back my weights due to my current health situation, but still going to training 3-4 times a week.
Hello all. Here to bring some accountability to my exercise routine. Been battling depression since losing my best friend and first pooch, Oshie and I’m tired of living insecure in my body and unhappy with my energy levels. Plus I’m 41 and I’d better get busy livin’.
Took some cues from @TMAC and finally used that HEVY app for the first time (despite having downloaded it over a year ago). Did a 1.5 mile warm up jog and then torched my shoulders as I’ve had some pain there and I’m working to strengthen them.
Going to work on chest today before taking my son to his first baseball clinic of the year. Looks like I’ll be coaching little league this year!
So I did get a short chest and bicep workout in two days ago as well as a good workout on the back yesterday. Also watched the kiddo take some impressive strides in the baseball clinic.
Grateful for the amenities and fitness opportunities that my small community has deemed important For the well being of the people who live and visit here.
Trying to take it slow at first until I can find my rythym. I have gotten myself in trouble with burnout. Doing too much too fast. Giving myself the grace to set a pace that is achievable.
I recently started working at this hardware store that I worked at like seven or eight years ago and it’s family owned for 100 years but the lumberyard warehouse or garage before you enter the store has a little home type gym that is pretty cool. I might start getting here early to work out in the morning.. The owner is very knowledgeable and definitely can be a good mentor for me. Also there is a boxing gym right down the street that my boss was telling me about.. I definitely have a lot of good cardio and endurance from biking everywhere for 10 years but I would like to get my strength training improved or strength in general..
Whenever I’m at work and I start feeling like I’m dragging I definitely come over here and do some pull ups which wakes me up!
I did have a gym membership a few months back but I canceled it but that point in my life I was still struggling with social anxiety which has gotten a lot better mostly because of forcing myself to go to meetings
Was trying to find an appropriate thread to post this even though this is not a selfie
Been a long time off, Decembers fitness challenge kind of got me motivated again. Thanks for the push!
I’m weak, I’m old but I’m sober. My body feels better right now then when I was much stronger 2 years ago. Here’s to training smart this time.
