Hello. First timer

first post.

I quit drinking April 15, 2025.

I have gotten drunk 8 nights since April 15 until today, July 21, 2025. Last time I drank was July 12, 2025.

Would like to be a happy PERMANENT ex-addict, but currently I’m apparantly still addicted.

I’ve Jack Trimpey and Allen Carr. Allen Carr is the one that resonates w/ me the most.

It’s been suggested I seek therapy and/or attend meetings and/or go to rehab but I’ve done none of those. Open to almost anything that would rid me of this addiction.

I did take Naltrexone from may, 2024 until January 2025 but stopped taking it. Was following the Sinclair method.

Just wanted to say hello and introduce myself. Take care.

Welcome U2
This is a great sober community. Read around. Keep an open mind and don’t pick up that first drink.

Welcome to the community and congrats on your consecutive sober time.

The resources that Eric provided are great. You may also find the What’s YOUR plan? thread to be useful.

Having a plan is key and going to meetings (AA or other recovery groups) can provide in person support. Find ways to keep yourself busy and try to stay away from triggering places / people until you have a solid sobriety base and ways to handle the triggers.

This is a wonderful supportive community. Take your time to read around and join in when you feel ready. I do love the Checking in daily to maintain focus #78 thread for accountability to stay connected to other sober members and the [Daily Gratitude, The Air Of Recovery #9] (Daily Gratitude, The Air Of Recovery #9) thread to help change our mindset and bring positivity to our journey.

Hope to see you around - take it ODAAT

Welcome to the forum! Glad u found us!
Lots of helpful advice here and great support. Congratulations on ur sober time. Sounds like u have a number of days under ur belt already!

Can i ask what stops you from attending these? These are all great resources for gaining some serious sober time. Meetings can be in person or online. Therapy is a great tool and rehab is full of useful information. Ive received great success from all 3 as have many others.

Hope to see u checking in often
