Home gym selfies

I’m getting a stationary bike they’re throwing out at the gym, it’ll probably go on my porch facing the TV too, lol

I only watch my favorite trashy shows when I’m on the treadmill. It’s my motivator. Mostly true crime stuff, Dateline, or sometimes reality tv stuff LOL!

I love those too, I thought I was twisted for always watching murder stuff, lol. My sister always says, how can you watch those?

This is only part of our home gym that I have a pic of at the moment. The other corner currently has hubby’s rower, another corner has our free weights and next Wednesday we’ll be adding our treadmill to our home gym. Very exited!

I am enjoying seeing everyone’s home gyms!! With all the equipment we have purchased I can’t imagine going back to the gym once its truly safety do so. A lot of money has been invested now.

We also have a Bowflex Max Trainer 7 which won’t fit in our home gym set up so Im going to probably try to sell it. It’s practically like new as I only used it gently. I guess I’ll cross that bridge when I get to it!

I couldn’t imagine going back and waiting for the squat rack that has some dip shit using it to curl weight. Nothing beats the home gym if you can motivate yourself. It sounds like your set up is real :ok_hand:.

Thank you and I totally understand where you’re coming from. Hubby and I did enjoyed the gym (the month it lasted before Covid hit) but neither one of us are comfortable going back even with all the cleaning protocols they have implemented.

We use to have the equipment in our basement but when our son moved out we decided to convert the bedroom into a workout room. Toyed with the idea of a spare bedroom for a bit, but then the light bulb went off and we came to the realization that a home gym made perfect sense. Plus by doing this it has helped up quit drinking and since its right next to our room its hard to not do at least a little something every day. When it was in the “dungeon” (ie the basement) it was very out of sight out of mind.

Very nice. May I suggest a freestanding punching bag? Boxing/Kickboxing is a great workout and would compliment all your cardio equipment nicely. Plus hitting things designed to be hit is a great stress reliever.

We do have a punching bag, downstairs but its not suspended… it crossed our mind to make our 1 car garage into our workout space with the bag and all the rest of the stuff, but decided against that. We also have a Bowflex Max Trainer (thats like new, similar to an ellipical) that’s downstairs but we are looking to sell that since we really like the equipment we have now and won’t be using that much if at all now. The free standing punching bag is a great idea actually!

I started out with just a century WaveMaster freestanding bag and gradually upgraded my garage dojo as needs and budget permitted. My original freestanding bag is now in my son’s apartment. He and his wife use it. Even if you aren’t into martial arts and combatives it’s a great cardio/light strength whole body workout. Plus there’s lots of free videos on YouTube to help you build a routine.

Thank you for the info and tips on all that. Hubby actually is into martial arts but hasn’t been training much due to, you guessed it, thanks to Covid. He does Modern Arnis (stick fighting), the early stages of it. He enjoys it and hopes to get back to training when things eventually normalize again. Who knows when that maybe, but someday!

When I belonged to a big box gym many moons ago (10 plus years now) they had a group class that we actually got to put gloves on and do a workout with punching bags. It was awesome. I thoroughly enjoyed it even thought I didn’t get to go to the class often since it was not at an ideal time for me. It definitely worked and trained different muscles instead of just punching the air/going through the different punching motions in a cardio/kickboxing class.

Thanks again for the suggestion and info!
