Day 10 is done! Today was definitely harder than yesterday for some reason, but mission accomplished!!

Day 10 done! @Hidden I feel you on today being harder. I don’t know about you but I have only pushed myself past 1 minute a few times in the past. It’s probably just psychological but something about that 1 minute mark feels heavy.

I use a trick that helps me, at least for my position on my forearms: I hold my hands together and tap one finger on the other hand. I just keep saying “I can make it two more taps” until I collapse. I’ve never pushed planks to the times we have in this challenge though. I’m looking forward to really stretching my endurance!

What do you do to stay focused when your mind is whispering “nah just give up, you’re good”?

I missed day 9, but did day 10: 2:30. But i have to admit that this was very very close to the actual limit. Maybe because i was running 1 hour today, but i will continue to reach the goal…

Yesterday I pushed it to 1m50s and felt pretty good about it. But today I just wasn’t feeling it. I still managed 1m30s, but that was it!! I think a lot of it was that I usually do my planks first thing in the morning. Had a birthday party for my son last night, he turned 18 the day after Xmas but who wants a party then🤣 We were up late, I slept in today and then waited to get my planks in. Mornings are fresh body, fresh mind.

I think of my daughter running the Dopey Challenge at Disney…day one 5k, day 2 10k, day 3 half marathon, day 4 full marathon…I think of her strength for hours on that last day. She was never a runner, til she decided to be one. You would never look at her and think… runner. We can do almost anything we put our minds to. If she can run for 6 hours, I can plank for 5 minutes.

Day 10 done. I concur with comments above - today’s minute seemed longer than yesterday’s! :joy: Mind over matter, mind over matter, one second at a time.

Day 11 done!

It is not easy anymore. The first 10 days were easy. Now I’m struggling more. Not gonna give up; I’m gonna keep pushing myself. But I’m having to really dig into my resolve.

Also interesting - my diet the previous day is affecting my morning planking. I do better in days when I was more balanced the day before. Nighttime sweets - which I do sometimes - do not help. They make me feel bloated in the morning. Interesting!
