Sorry you have done time too, definitely stay clean and clear! If / when my brother gets out, he has to stay super clean or else he will never be outside again. My Mom says she is holding on so she can see him again (she is 89). It is a heartbreaking thing.
I do know Tom Waits! Cool. Like Tom Petty in The Postman?

@SassyRocks After trying to make a list of some of my favorite movies I realize it’s really difficult because there is so many lol. But this is a good one to start with I highly recommend every single one of these movies. I’m not too big on anything else except just basic drama movies or thrillers. My favorite time for movies is probably the 90s or early 2000s. There was a period in my movie watching where I found a thrift store that sold VHS tapes for five cents and at the time I was unemployed and living with my parents so I was watching like five or six movies a day. This was probably like 20 years ago. Out of everything I listed probably there will be blood, book of Eli, And Inglourious Bastards is in my top 10. I probably would’ve kept going with my list but then it would be a really really long post. I guarantee I’m forgetting at least 20 or 30 movies actually probably way more than that. This is not a specific order just what I could think of.
Ps: James and the giant peach is my favorite movie from childhood. I recently tried to find a hat or a piece of clothing from that movie but it was hard to find. As an adult I can still watch that movie
I’ve seen the life aquatic!! I totally forgot about that movie but I have not seen the others? Are all of these movies like connected in some kind away or are there different types of story lines and movies ?
Different stories only connection Wes directed them and use a lot of the same actors if you liked life aquatic check the rest great films and like said the soundtracks are
I immensely enjoyed this one. Regretting I didn’t see it on the big screen. It’s simple entertainment, leaning heavily into the style of the early Indiana Jones movies: a magical historical artefact hidden through time, puzzles and clues to follow over continents, a big impressive library and ancient monuments. All paired with witty characters and just the right amount of action and laughs. I hope they make a sequel… or 5!
My number one of all time as well. I agree it’s an incredible film. I’ve probably seen it five times maybe more. I literally made a movie list of my favorite movies on here two weeks ago and I’m pretty sure I put there will be blood at the top of that list. The beginning of the movie like the first five minutes is incredible determination and drive. Whatever it takes to get to the top. For me personally that film embodies everything that a good film should be
No country for old men is definitely in my top 10. I just watched it about a week and a half ago. But the first time I saw it was years ago. The one thing about being an alcoholic or drug addict is that I can watch so many movies that I’ve already seen and it’s like I’m watching them for the first time because I barely can remember them. we definitely have the same taste in movies. I really like just basic dramas. The kind of movies where you don’t even want to get up or walk away. I’m not big on that super fancy special effects action movies and I feel like comedy movies aren’t the same anymore because everybody’s afraid to get sued.. As far as that type of movie like there will be blood or no country for old men I would have to think about it if I have any recommendations of similar movies. When you said modern Western it made me think of Django unchained. That’s a really good movie with Jamie Foxx and Quentin Tarantino directed that movie. You might like Inglourious Bastards. That’s also a Tarantino movie.
Django unchained
Inglorious Bastards
The master - Joaquin Phoenix, Philip Seymour Hoffman
If you haven’t seen the master that is also in my top 10. It’s so incredibly good and Joaquin Phoenix does a really good job playing an alcoholic in that movie. And Philips Seymour Hoffman’s character I’m pretty sure is playing the guy who created Scientology or it’s loosely based off of that. I’ve seen it three times so far
Here is a list I made of some of my favorites. I made this list about two weeks ago so it’s crazy that you brought up there will be blood and no country for old men!!
