I typically make a starbucks knock off cold brew with carmel machiato and wide awake. Its a real monstrosity, but it gets me through my morning. Well i went all in on an espresso machine and now im going to make a knock off shaken espresso. I bought some SB blonde espresso. Lol I used the warm espresso this morning which just melted my ice, and only did 4 shots. In my egerness I didnt refrigerate it, but tomorrow its on… I already brewed up 8 shots and its cooling now… I will upload a pic tomorrow of the finished product.
What are these please
These are the products I use to make my cold brew. In a tumbler/mixer bottle i put in 8 oz of the caramel macchiato, with a splash of syrup to taste, and a handful of ice, shake until frothy, then add my cold brew. Top with sweet foam and cinnamon sprinkles
In the terms of this thread, should we consider him a snob? @SoberGuyUSA @Scorpn @Alisa @Mno @Fury @AyBee @Yoda-Stevie ??
I’d say more like raving loony.
Hmm…Since he is doing it at home and because of all the work involved likely not…
That seems on hell of a lot of work but if I can get the stuff in the UK I think I’ll give it a try, you never know I become a convert, but, for me it would be a weekend thing I couldn’t be doing with it every day.
On another note, I just made a pot of Veranda in my cafetiere (a French press for the US philistines among us ) which makes six 8oz mugs and its turned out even better than the coffee maker, next experiments are my 10oz one shot and then the bialetti
It has taken on a life of its own for sure! I started at 14 drinking double shot cappuccinos, which switched to columbian black no sugar in my 20s and 30s. I quit drinking coffee for about 5 yrs, then my wife brought home a starbucks salted caramel coldbrew 2 years ago and I was instantly hooked, but I wont pay 7$ everyday for a coffee, its just coffee, I can do the work for a good coffee. Its my pleasure!!!
No. Bottled cold brew isnt bad. I would find your preference first. I actually prefer a shaken espresso, for flavor and caffeine content, thats why I opted for an espresso machine. So much to choose from these days, I did think about buying a coldbrew machine but couldnt justify the price for the ready made stuff. There isn’t a real ready made espresso, ‘wide awake expresso blend’ tasted gross after a while, so I switched to the light blend, but the flavor still was lacking. I settled on breakfast blend for its well rounded flavor.
OK thanks so much for the information I’ll start digging and see what I can get and if I can get what I need I’ll report back on how it turned out
Oooohhh I’m gonna call it this from now on sounds so much better!
I have this and I love it. I use it mostly during the summer though. Since the days are busy busy busy with everything and no school
Holy SUGAR!! It looks like a delicious dessert coffee though
No
Not a snob.
While what he’s making has coffee in it, it barely qualifies as coffee… if you know what I mean.
I would use “a person of discerning tastes”.
The only sugar is the dash on top, and the few grams in my foam, skinny syrup is sugar free/calorie free. And I realize most of you couldnt handle real espresso straight up, I can and do drink it like that, on occassion (real coffee).
In the land of milk and honey you can have your cake and eat it too. What I dont understand is the lashing out and belittling of my taste, I certainly dont care what yall drink, but if calling people snobs for making their own coffee is your cup of tea, go ahead. Its honestly quite telling of the group.
Im certain no one really meant anything by it. But if anyone drinks coffee from starbucks your over paying and honestly quite literally throwing your money away. I can make these for a fraction of the cost, and wouldnt waste my money anywhere else but home. They never have a waxy after taste and I always get what I ordered
