LoL yea! My first week sober, I was working in a building with a starbucks on the first floor. I was drinking a trenta everyday and having a chocolate croissant too. 2 weeks of that, thats when I started making my own.
As promised 2 pics of my new cafetiere after my old one went off to cafetiere heaven after 25 years of trusty service.
I need to set up all my coffee makers together to make a coffee corner. For now i have the cold brewer in my fridge, espresso machine over my microwave stand, coffee pot on the counter, and other gadgets around my kitchen

Just been out to change some of my birthday presents so they arenāt so fuddy duddy, Iām only 57 today, anyway, I popped into TKMax, I think itās TJMax with you and they had a massive 40oz 2 pints bialetti for Ā£32 thatās $39.51 in original wrapper absolutely beautiful, should have bought it but Iād just forked out Ā£27 for a Nautica top, the real deal.
Did you know that if you look at the lable on any TK/TJMax product you see a 2 digit code (in the UK top right) separate from the other codes, 01 means it was made by the manufacturer especially for the store anything else means it was for general release (so more expensive) but may be last seasons catalogue.
Donāt know if the codes are the same in the US but itās worth looking out for as you can pick up some stunning deals.
Iāll go back tomorrow and if the bialetti is still there itās mine, HP Iām putting you in charge of this one, whatāll be will be.

The Balineti saga continues, I got home and told the wife, she whom I have no problem obeying, and she said go get it.
So off I trots the 9 miles to the store, when I get there itās gone on my way out I passed the clearance shelf and there it was reduced to Ā£12 1/3 the original price, Iām just going to pick it up, when this kid picked it up and said no word of a lie "can we have this mommy, it looks prettyā she looks at the price, Iām sure her eyes started glowingā and said OK put it in the basket.
So whatās the moral of this story, well itās the same as sobriety, if itās offered grab it with both hands and guard it until you get home, and, then make it the center of your world.
I donāt think the Balineti would have had the same effect but I certainly treat my sobriety that way.
Anyway sob story over, now comes the hard part what to eat, Iāve been given carte blanched, which is an utter mine field, even though weāve been together 37 years 35 of that married, sheās going through the menopause, so In her own words āwhat I like when you order it probably wonāt be what I want when it arrivesā so whatās a guy supposed to, Iām alcoholic, I hate choices, this sort of thing would drive a Saint to drink,
Iām not a Saint so Iām ordering 5 mains, whatever happens the dogs and cats will have a feast and Iām really, really good with that.

A grande with no ice is essentially the same as a trenta with it.
You can order a grande no ice, and a cup of ice on the side and get a trenta for less.
Tried this once got upcharged for no ice. Not sure it was worth it
No picture today, but I made a salted caramel macchiato shaken espresso it was delish, could have used more salt on top but was scared to burn it.
My wife wants me to attempt the pistachio foam coldbrew/shaken espressoā¦ so I said I can probably just grind some pistachios and add them to the latte before I make it foam. Hoping thats all I need and dont need pistachio syrupā¦

Pistachio syrup at Starbucks is mostly sugar and condensed milk. Iāll snap a picture of one of the bottles tomorrow and see if itās something you can replicate
Ok thanks. It was a starbucks at target. I dont know why condensed milk in a drink sounds gross, Iām sure Iāve had one and donāt know it (brown sugar shaken espresso?) Im pretty stuck on using the starbucks machiato and latte for my cream/foam.
I keep wanting to try affogato, but usually have ice cream at night and coffee in the morningā¦ I guess it will give me a reason to eat ice cream for breakfast!!! Might try it this weekend, if its lazy.
Salt in coffee not tried it but just the thought turns my stomach, probably due to me throwing up after salted chocolate, probably wasnāt the cause but it sticks in my mind and those things are hard to dispel.
Its just a sprinkle on top of the caramel foam, not āin the coffeeā LoL I sure hope I didnt make you urpish, āsalted caramel coldbrewā isā¦ aā¦ one of my faves at SB so I had to try it. It turned out pretty much on point!!!
In a venti:
6 pumps (half pump) of brown sugar syrup
Ice (enough to fill the cup
Cinnamon powder
Blonde espresso shots (recipe calls for 4, I use 5)
Combine and shake 10x
Them top with oatmilk
One of my favorites too. If Iām having a sugar coffee, itās a good one
This has
Vanilla syrup (T1, G2, V3, Tr4)
Cold brew
Ice
Then topped with Salted caramel cold foam
Which is:
Vanilla sweet cream
Caramel syrup
And salt
Whipped to about half thickness of whipped cream
