One week strong

Closing out a full week of sobriety and it feels great. I still have to find better coping mechanisms for boredom but thanks to my job which fired me yesterday wrongfully I will now be spending my time getting a lawyer for wrongful termination. Despite all of that. This was a good week for me and I am proud of myself.

Congrats on your week! :hugs:
I’ve been reading around this forum, and there are many coping tips shared by people who have successfully stayed sober. One Day At A Time (ODAAT)—you’ve got this! :slightly_smiling_face:

Congratulations! It is especially admirable considering you are under so much stress.

Just FYI, there is a check-in thread Checking in daily to maintain focus#78 if you want to join a big group of members who check in together, or you can add each update to a previous thread you made of an update to keep the forum tidy. It also acts as a kind of diary thread you can look back on. You can edit the title so it fits where you are in your recovery at that time,

Good going, you can do this. Stay strong :flexed_biceps:t2:
Just FYI, check whether it’s boredom or just peaceful… Addicts tend to crave chaos to feel normal; often, addiction was a response or coping mechanism to chaos or lack of control in your life. Stress can take up a lot of time and emotional energy. Without that chaos we can feel bored and unregulated until we integrate.

Enjoy that peace/boredom.

A huge congrats on your 1 week. Well done on doing so through this hard time. I am sorry about your job and wish you luck with the suit.

You should be super proud of yourself! Keep going strong :muscle:

The early days are hard when we get idle times - I found keeping busy with cleaning, cooking, baking, knitting, puzzles, working out or just sleeping helped. Check out the Hobbies thread here - it may have some ideas for you
