I feel I must weigh in on this thread as a born & bred Yorkshire girl…
@Starlight14 - I love you very much and your Yorkies look bloody amazing… but they belong on a Sunday dinner only, not Christmas Dinner… :face_with_peeking_eye: X

Its a beautiful city, but we are a strange breed up here lol, my granda used to have yorkies with jam inside

YES !!! My grandad and dad used to do this with the leftover puds. Yorkshire-pudding-pudding  Maybe it’s a northern delicacy … ?
Meanwhile, my husband’s family used to put butter and sugar on top - bizarre behaviour :flushed: X

My granny did both and I had those as a kid, Yorkies with sugar on and Yorkies with jam on. Probably showing my age though.

I also remember at sunday lunch my grandad and uncle would have a plate full of yorkshire puds and gravy as a starter then have their roast dinner straight after

It’s a starter at my favourite steak restaurant. Huge Yorkies the size of man fists with bone marrow gravy and potted beef :meat_on_bone:

Btw … I really had a laugh when I saw that you re-named your thread.
It’s lovely to see how a serious conversation can go with some fun and jokes as well.

Thank you everybody for this wonderful TS forum

As a born and bred Southerner who is wary of crossing the ice wall to go North I’m not beyond some cultural appropriation and believe giant Yorkshire puddings filled with sausage and beans are a meal themselves

Ahh the marvel that is the filled giant yorkshire pudding

Just walked past “the breakfast club” and Greggs (essentially sausage rolls for the international audience) on the way to the station. Are we missing a business idea here? “Yorkies” (strictly no booze but the small dog of the same name is allowed).

What are you thinking James? Are we pitching an idea for a food franchise? I’m in…!
Savoury & sweet options.
I was wondering whether jam and clotted cream filled yorkie’s might be posh twist on @happyfeet ’s suggestion :yum: (too far?!) x
