Podcasts compilation (2018 to present)

Here’s the ones I listen to regularly:
-Recovery Elevator. I like this one because Paul gives a voice to those who may only have 100 days sobriety. He doesn’t just stick to the “old timers” with years and years and years. Episodes are 45-60 minutes long, and it’s usually like an interview between himself and his guest. Lots of good stuff gets said. He lets the guest tell their “drinking history”, and there’s been numerous times I’ve connected with his guests.
-That Sober Guy Podcast. This one has two hosts/two shows. Shane Ramer is the main host, and I tend to like his episodes more than the new guy, Seth. He is growing on me….but I’m not fully on board with him just yet. This podcast seems like they have a topic, and a guest, and then just kind of let it flow and go with it.
-The Z-Man Podcast. Hosted by Todd Zalkins. Old school Long Beach guy, grew up with the guys in Sublime, as well as numerous other musicians from that scene, who he interviews. Talks about how they survived when a lot of their friends didn’t, and how they use that to help others. This one is one of my favorites.
-Sober As $#@! Podcast. Short episodes, usually less than 15 minutes. She touches on various topics dealing with her recovery from alcohol, an eating disorder, and drugs. Usually has a guest on as well.
-High Sobriety. Hosted by John Mabry (the one leg dude jogging in Superbad) Speaks with his guests about various topics. Musicians, actors, doctors, etc. A pretty well-rounded podcast.
-Real Sobriety Podcast. Short, sweet episodes. Like, less than 5 minutes. Kind of like a quick pick-me-up.

I live in a cube all day and thankfully I can lisren to my phone! I used to listen to news and true crime shows, I have started to listen to recovery podcasts and they for me are Gold. I wanted to add a few of my favorites to this wonderful list. Lee Davy and his Alcohol and Addiction Podcast, Shane Ramer and his That Sober Guy Podcast, and Kevin O’Hara and his Alcohol Mastery Podcast. Different guys with different personalities, but all recovering addicts that talk to you and not at you. They share their stories and advice, and Lee and Shane bring on other recovering addicts and recovery experts at times. If anybody has any others please share!

Recovery Elevator, The Bubble Hour, and Sober Cast are my favorites. I am a true crime junkie though and still listen to those all the time.

This one is my favorite. I recommend starting at episode 1. It’s on spotify for free and other platforms as well. This show is all about people’s journeys through addiction and into recovery.

He also has a fb group for recovery if you use fb.
