Been sober from alcohol for 1 year and 9 months , been off pills for about 5 years and now May 1st I’m going to try and tackle cigarettes! Being sober makes me realize I want to be around longer ![]()
Congrats on the best decision you can make for yourself. Smoking is a lying killing addiction like all the others. Being sober and clean for quite a while you have the tools to make it. I believe in you! Wishing you all success Erica.

Like @Mno said, congrats on making a great decision! It was definitely one of the best I made! Also great work on your 17 months and 5 months sobriety from alcohol and pills!
I’m going to link a thread below that has some good tips, suggestions and experiences from a few people with more time free of nicotine than me! ![]()

Congrats on committing to quitting.
I quit 7 and a half years ago and it was the best decision I’ve made. It was hard, as I did cold turkey, but it was pretty quick. I’m sure you will love being completely free as much as us ex-smokers do!
I’ve never really gave it a “real” try lol so I’m hoping it’ll be easier than what I’m expecting ![]()
Thank you for the link ![]()
Honestly its the hardest of all things, everytime I run out I keep saying this is the last 2, then in the morning off to buy another pack. Its the hardest thing even on the pills I’ve tried everything except listening to my body seriously and not liking to myself. You got this and I hope I can learn something from this too!
