I really want to get a traditional style butterfly sometime this year. Transforming

Or even a moth… moths are beautiful too.

I like the semi colon…I’ve heard that used for a lot of mental health issues. I think of it as the song says “the rest is still unwritten”.

I’ve been thinking about a lotus flower…the beauty that grows from the muck. That sounds like my life right now.

But I’ve also been thinking of getting a “nevertheless, she persisted” tattoo. It is political, feminist, AND describes my sobriety journey all in out.

(I should add though, I think my husband will divorce me if I get ANOTHER tattoo!! He hates tattoos.)

So far I’ve gotten three new tattoos since being clean and sober! Sign of what I’ve been through and that I’ll get through anything!! My husband isn’t the biggest fan of tattoos but he’s slowly coming around to the idea of them! I have freebird on my chest because I’m truly free from the hold that alcohol and drugs had on me. I have ‘faith, hope, love.’ On my back shoulder, you have to have all those in recovery and angel wings behind my ear. I have my guardian angel with me always💜

I got this cos I liked how it differs from the classic AA design. (Have never been to a meeting) But it reminds me daily of the new path I have chosen. My arm’s covered in ink so it’s placed in a spot where only I can see

We’ve been watching a lot of Harry Potter lately and the other day I saw the Deathly Hollows symbol and thought “Hey that’s the AA symbol”…but actually it’s the opposite…circle inside the triangle. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Got mine today. I wanted to combine the two things that bring me the most peace. Music and nature.

I got a tattoo of a compass on my side meaning a new direction, and the word surrender on my arm.

I always wonder which direction to put a wrist tattoo…up by the hand or up by the elbow!!
