I am really at the beginning but I agreed to work hard on it to make walking a healthy habit. It is a wonderful thing to do for physical and mental health and stability. And sometimes I think it is important to enjoy movement as long as we can. There are so many people around who can’t ,for different reasons, go for minimal distances due to heart issues or breathing issues. So I am faithful to enjoy walking, if not running as long as I can!
Have a great sober Tuesday everyone.
Hello everyone!
I did a lot of running in my past. I started at Highschool as was asked to be a member of our school runners team. Then I joined our local city runners club. Then… Drinking and parties started. I reached some dark places and periods of my life. I was on Clonazepam for 4 years. Running again was one of the best tools that helped me to crawl back. On 2013 I runned my first Half Marathon.
Just did the first tempo run this year (at least as much I can remember). Been really running one to three runs per month this whole year. Only did like 1 tempo run on April as I can see on my Strava. That was the only month I did 4 runs per month as far as I can see atm. Been focused to my 2 gym workouts and drinking to be honest. 1+ month sober and being back on track of running.
Only now after the run I noticed that the air temperature is +31C ?!
I guess not the best day to do tempo run anyway all done and done.

Long run Tuesday. If I can hold this pace for my race next month I will for sure get my half marathon PR I want
Nice run @zzz You are fast!!!
I have too. I really like it. I love beets and always drink the juice from a jar also. I don’t know if it helped me, but I have read about all sorts of studies that say it does. Hmmm, sudden urge to go buy some beets! I also like steaming them in the rice cooker!
Nice! I think you said it before, but I forgot. Where is your half marathon at?
Santa Fe. I have a whole weekend planned for myself Getting there a day early and plan to go see an art exhibit and sight see a bit
I think soon I’m gonna try some slower, but longer run. Maybe 7km… When (if) I will run 10k from time to time (for example once in a week) I’m gonna be super duper satisfy. Was planning this in 2024 but maybe gonna try this year
I’m glad you have found joy in running!! Don’t forget stretching and strength work. I read something when I started running that said Running is basically a one legged sport so each leg should be strong on its own accord. My biggest weakness is my hip flexors. I’m still trying to get them strong to where they don’t pain me after super long runs.
Nice run!!
Thank’s.
Now I am on Vocations and actually my running routine helps me to sort of spin the work week faster Like Wednesday is my ‘‘little weekend’’ - ‘‘day off’’ I always say now it’s only Thursday left and Friday is already an weekend - Do I even working?
So I am on 1 Week Summer Vocation now and actually don’t want to do fast forward on this week I think to give my body some recover time time now.
My calves are still hurting from Saturday!! I reached out to an avid runner FB friend. She does ultras and all kinds of races. I asked if she had any recommendations other than what I have already done and she said I’ve done it all. So rest it is for my leggies No long run for me tomorrow. I did find this and it is nice! Doesn’t smell strong like other muscle rubs and it has a cooling aspect
Did you try Magnesium Oil? It helps me with muscle pain, maybe worth giving a try, its natural and generally healthy.
I’m still running, although rather short distances (5k). Next weekend I will have my first official run, my first competition (also 5k), I’m curious if I’m gonna like it Small step to half-marathon I’m planning in 2024.
3 weeks (?) on from succumbing to my niggling injury that’s been bothering me for months. My hamstring still feels tight but not as bad and my hip on same side still isn’t right either.
So, another maybe 10 days of rest and strength / stretch exercises only before I try running slowly. No sprinting for a good while I think.
I’m thinking I might run / walk a short distance on Saturday 2nd Sept. That’s my goal.
I’ve been walking 15k steps or more a day to stay active, I took anti inflammatory drugs for two weeks, plus I’ve used ice packs and compression supports…all whilst staying positive!!
If my plan fails it’ll be time to see the doctor.
I haven’t tried that. My calves are finally feeling better and I’m about to do a short run with my long run still planned for friday. I will keep that in mind for next time!! Thanks for the suggestion
Finally found time to post my run from this morning. It didn’t feel as good as it looks on strava My struggle runs are so much better since I ditched the vape
This one felt good!! I had 2 pieces of toast with a bit of butter and a bottle of electrolyte water before heading out. Definitely made a difference. I normally start gassing out in mile 7 but I didn’t feel it until mile 9 today. Progress!!! I got a Pr on my 15k
Nice! Last big one before the half?
Naw, it’s not for 3 more weeks (Sept 17th) so I’ll have at least a few more long runs before then.
