I know!! I watched some video and saw some pictures and the guys look absolutely exhausted! I’ve been debating on doing a marathon but I’m not sure I could ever run for 60 hours in that type of terrain. Mad respect to them!
I’ve done 15 marathons and it’s still a strong possibility I break down the last few miles and have to limp in. And I prepare heavily! I cannot fathom some of these ultras. I watched a documentary on one through the Himalayas or somewhere like that. It was mind boggling. I’ll have to find that one.
Yes please. I’d love to watch it. I started listening to a podcast on ultra history on Spotify and it’s pretty interesting
“Ultra High”. Haha, i just watched the trailer. Its been a good 5 years since i watched it. They start halucinating and get hyoothermia and all sorts of stuff, lol, its great!
Great Topic! I am a runner as well!
I start Running on regular base 5 months ago, to help me with staying sober and to quit smoking.
I Iove to Run in the early mornings, when the streets and parks are empty and you can hear the birds singing.
Altough I still smoke 4-5 cigarets a day I will keep trying! I Run half marathon distances now
Yesterday I did a 60min Tempo run.
Awesome! Yeah, I used to have pre and post run smokes too, lol.
I used to do that too. I’m so glad I don’t anymore!!
I had a great run to kick my day off earlier. Ever since my schedule change at work I’ve been running later in the morning. I have forgotten how much I enjoy running in the dark with no traffic and the birds chirping. I never wear headphones when running in the dark so I just hear my feet and the sounds of nature. I was so close to a Pr. Mile 2 is always tripping me up for some reason.
I had a real couch to 10k moment today.
After idk how many weeks I went for a run here. I liked it a lot. Didn’t feel the km so much, more the uphill and downhill. Really trail running. Like it a lot. Has some thing of meditation as I have to be there in order to not fall. I hope my big toe won’t mind. But he’ll, it was warm at 6 pm.
Wow, you have really done a good job of consistently lowering your times. Looks like your 2nd mile is falling in line too!
Half-Marathon is getting close for me. I do not have the miles in I was hoping for, but I have been lifting a lot more than usual, which is good. I love the full marathons but I must admit it is nice to somewhat have my life back by not having to log all those miles.
Thanks for noticing! I’ve been working on endurance and pacing. I’m trying to get faster and I read that to get faster you have to do 4 out of 5 runs easy paced (11 minute area for me) and then 1 hard out. We shall see how it works out for me over the next few months.
When is your half?
That makes sense. I do something along those lines, but never have heard it put in those terms.
The half is May 20. I have unofficially broken 2 hours a couple times, I was hoping to do it for real this time. But, I put on about 20 pounds during the very stressful basketball season (I am an assistant at the High School). So, I’m still working on getting that off (it weighs you down!). It’s all good though, I always will find some sort of excuse!
Innocently went for a trail run. Thought I knew the way down to the river. In fact I was wrong and bumped right in the middle of something from a couple. I had to pass them I prayed to continue down the river to get to the real trail. Nooooo, I had to turn around back to the couple already in the middle of well.
Please hole in the ground open up. I climbed back up through the forest. What a start. After this encounter I enjoyed it so much.
Omg I’ve never seen anything like that but I also don’t trail run
it’s crazy that they didn’t move to a different spot. If you saw them they weren’t in the trees enough lol
Haha! I’ve had two instances of seeing some people “interacting”. Both were as I ran through playgrounds. It’s an odd world.
