So my succulents went NUTS (in a good way) while I was gone. The flower stalk has erupted into beautiful pink/orange flowers. It’s still unfurling, and it looks like there will be many more blooms coming! I’ve never had it happen quite like this.
The one that suffered an untimely beheading is regrowing beautifully.
My newest ones absolutely exploded and are now almost too big for their pot.
Bingo. If they don’t get much sun, they will extend themselves in search of it. Etoliation is this process, and along with it you’ll usually see the leaves sort of flattening out, like you’re seeing towards the base of yours.
Get her as much sun as possible (ideally actually outside if possible, but a sunny window is better than nothing) and she should start to grow more uniformly and perk up a bit. 8-12 hrs a day consistently if possible (I know this can be difficult in many parts of the world, my own region included). But if the sun is shining – get her out there if you can.
Have moved to the sunniest windowsill for now. Not sure it is warm enough outside - top temperature in the day is 20c and quite a lot of rain showers due this week.
I have to constantly move mine around, especially in spring and fall. Outside, inside. Front of the house, back deck. I call it playing “plant games”.
Thankfully summertime the sun is on the back deck pretty much all day, so I only move them to get them inside at night or if rain is coming.
Back east, I made my own maple syrup, loved doing it and it was delicious…photography also, mostly winterscapes. Out west my new hobby is my kids’ baseball and avoiding the death ray…
I did, I had many maple trees on my property, I’d tap about a dozen and collect the sap in March. It would take 40 gallons of sap to make 1 gallon of syrup…it was very time consuming but so worth it…
