Question: I’ve got a tattoo appointment on Tuesday and I need to figure out how much gratuity to pay. I generally stick to my 20% but I’m curious what some of you think. I’m going to do some research online also. It’s my concept but will be his design so it means he has put work in beyond just doing the tattoo.
Generally I gauge by design, detail, length of time it takes, and overall satisfaction. There were times I’ve tipped the standard 15-20% and there were times when I’ve been really happy that I’ve given a 50% tip it all really comes down to how satisfied you are with the work they did.
Thanks. My thoughts also.
Portland Marathon logo tattoo. It’s the marathon that qualified me for the Boston Marathon at:
3h 9mins 22secs (one of my proudest moments)!
Soon after running Boston Marathon. I discovered meth and life went crazy!
So I go by a few things
Size
Cost
Service
Naturally if your getting a well detailed piece, and it’s running you a thousand dollars dropping a 100 dollar tip is fine.
If your getting a 100 dollar session I have no problem throwing them 50 bucks for their time and appreciation,
$150/hr. I was booked for 3 hrs but told it would likely be 2 and change, which sounds right. I’ll bring enough cash to pay roughly 20%
Sickest I’ve seen on this thread hands down
Thank you!
I see you got a thing for movies
Should be starting my sleeve next week. Pretty fkn stoked about it.
It took me along time to decide it was time to get rid of a username that I had on my neck from my swinging days. Now I have new ink with a quote I fell in love with after someone on here sent it me x
I’m 33 and only now understand my worth x
Fresh ink! I am absolutely thrilled by how it turned out Thistle in honor of my dad’s Scottish heritage and my love of growing things. I love how resilient and beautiful thistle plants are!
It turned out great!!!
That’s beautiful
