Sober All Sports

I am not arguing this point. Just FYI Oakland is losing some long standing businesses because crime has risen greatly. Oakland Hilton at the Airport has been there over 50 years and shut down this week. Oakland has lost their only In and Out Burger and many others. KAISER medical offices sent out memo to employees to bring their lunch and don’t venture out into the city for food. The city really needs to re-establish its worthiness for a professional sports team. Incredible!

I didn’t feel unsafe at any point when visiting

Well, no playoffs for D-Backs this year. Bummer my team isn’t in it, but as a baseball fan above all else, the positive is now I watch the playoffs with zero stress about it.

Pulling for my NL West bros the Padres to take it now. Would love to see a Padres/KC world series.

As is tradition, I would typically move my Diamondbacks bobbleheads to the living room for the playoffs. I have a pair of Padres ones so they get the move this time.

Omg I just love your tradition. May you keep it always…

Cleveland Guardians… my vote as We believe in Stephen Vogt… alas another Oakland A who moved on for greater things…

Yes sports is on the approval list for tv watching here at the home barracks. Hallmark channel is frowned upon. Prefer tv goes on after all chores done. I don’t really mind the rules as the old me sat for days watching tv when not sleeping. I just need to prove in time I can be a responsible couch potato.

RIP Johan Neeskens. Not as famous as his teammate at Ajax and Barcelona Johan Cruijff, but one of the greatest of Dutch football. Maybe the best midfielder we ever had. One of only two Dutchmen to have scored in a World Cup final. Famous for his stone hard penalty kicks. This is the one from the 1974 World Cup final against West-Germany. Played a couple of years for New York Cosmos as well. Sweet introverted guy who had his own fights with mental health and alcohol abuse. 73 y/o. Thanks for the memories Johan.

Hate the Ravens.
You know this is my first sober year not getting into football :man_shrugging: I don’t know what it is. Maybe the move to California. I feel like I’m leaving ya hanging. Glad you’re enjoying the thread.

I usually pick my teams based on spite :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:
