Sober All Sports

I’ve been watching cricket for over 40 years now. And I’m slowly beginning to understand it a little bit. Don’t ask me to know all field positions though. Here’s a handy reminder (and of course they all change when the bowler’s at the other end, and again when a batter is a lefty like me. I love the game.

Wtf? This is even more confusing than i even thought the rules to cricket were!

My dad worked a lot in cricket-mad nations like India and Bangladesh. Part of his work consisted of long field trips in a car with a driver he had never met before so in order to break the ice and make time pass a little quicker, he would ask them to explain the rules of cricket and before you know it, a good 2 hours would have passed

Myself, I lived in the UK for long enough to assimilate and adopt most things British including a made love for rugby, but cricket is still beyond me. When a newsreader reads out the score and it’s not immediately obvious who is winning, that’s too much for my simple brain to handle :face_with_spiral_eyes:

It’s been a while since I went into the pub with the sun out, came out when it was pitch dark and was stone-cold sober still!
