How far away from your house is your workplace Geoffrey is it in the same village. 
No its about half hour away.
At least it’s not too far then, I hate having to use our local motorways at peak times.
It’s a friggin nightmare getting round Manchester at rush hours esp with all the roadworks in salford!

Luckily I rarely have to go round that side, touch wood. It’s bad enough going the other way around the M60 past Stockport though, there seems to be no way to predict it as ten minutes either way can make a massive difference. It would take around two hours to travel the six or so miles in to the city centre of a morning. That’s the price of living near to such a hip city I suppose.

For all of you keeping track went to the women’s AA meeting…
Got a 24hr and 30 day chip AND A SPONSOR! I think God really put the right person for me at that meeting this morning. Thank you all for encouraging me to give AA a try. I think this will be key to maintaining my sobriety. Hugs from Texas!

That’s the best news I’ve had all day, so happy for you. A sponsor has been very important for me, I never used to reach out to anyone in times of need as I knew what they would say and that I should know better. I now have no problem reaching out. As @Wunderbar says never crave alone and it’s been one of the single most important lessons I’ve learnt. Yay

Are the AA steps much different to the NA ones?
I’m part way through my moral inventory is bloody hard work but I know it will be worth it.
