I don’t know why but mine often end up as B. My kids make fun of me for it too.

I’ve been a life-long B slicer.
My dad did it that way. Not sure if it’s a Navy thing or not.
The shape is very functional and appealing. Works very well with thick sandwiches too. It takes the best of A and D and improves on them.
D has no structural integrity at the points.

D triangles are good for dipping grilled cheese in ketchup!! But that’s it.

You know, I didn’t even think of that. I had dismissed F completely. You just taught me something new about toast!

Excellent point. That was one of the special treats my mom made on weekends when we were kids!

Don’t cut it

I thought about including toast soldiers, but they are very specific… You don’t make toast with jam and think “I’m going to cut that into soldiers”.
Agree totally that they are perfect, mandatory even, for soft boiled eggs and such

Yes!!! Hubby and I have that at least once a week :joy:

It’s getting cold in Australia so toast is back on the menu, therefore I’m bumping this topic back up to gather more evidence.
I will also reiterate my vote of B being the superior cut for toast (or sammich).
