Big update here!
First. I took a very hard crash after possibly being clipped by a car. Broken thumb that is still messed up and some minor issues with the bike.
Second my son got a bike and wants to ride with me every day !
Third, I got a beautiful new to me Trek 5200. It absolutely flies compared to my Fuji

When I got my Bianchi, my Fuji was converted to my indoor trainer. The Fuji was a good first road bike for me, but it was comparably heavy.

I consider this my first ‘real’ gravel ride. Took the train to Arnhem and road around on De Veluwe. No way I could have done this on my road bike with narrow tyres. It was great. Highlight of the day was meeting a pack of running wild boar crossing my path. Had to break pretty hard not to crash into one.

A little test ride this evening. I was a little shaky but it didn’t take me long to get the hang of it again. I need to go to the store and get me a helmet now. Gotta protect the brain

Went for an after work ride today and I had a blast! I’m trying to slower increase my mileage because I’ve only done spin bike for years and my butt starts to hurt when I’m on there too long

lol the helmet goes on my head. I put my water, my phone and snacks in the basket. Yesterday I rode her home after dropping the jeep off for some brakes. I had my headphones, wallet and water bottle in there. It’s a very handy basket.

66yrs old, 13+ yrs sober, and a cycling nut!
Just did Gravel Worlds 75 mile grinder Saturday. Biking gets me out of my head, is great exercise, and is just what I need for Mental Health😊
