That’s so freaking awesome Flannery.
Clean and sober is paying off huge dividends. And you’re such a great example around here.

I wonder where our combined 85 pounds went :upside_down_face:

Despite being careful all week I went up a lb. This sucks. It is hot but I haven’t been eating ice-cream, and I have nothing to show for it.

To me a pound on the scale doesn’t really mean that you gained a pound. It could be salt. It could just be whatever. It could be you drank more water. If it stays there for days and days yes. I’ve always weighed every day, I’ve had lots of flack for it, but I like it. I can see trends. Unfortunately when it starts going up I quit weighing every day. You’re going to be fine, you have gotten some really good habits going replacing ones that weren’t as good.
I’m editing to add that maybe you are weighing once a week. If So I don’t mean to be at all critical about that

My gripe has been that I gained a bunch of weight since February. And it just kept going up. For whatever reason, maybe an antihistamine that I’m taking. I’ve been trying to take it off and was frustrated because it wasn’t. Then it looks like it has some, maybe, who knows, we will see what tomorrow brings. I know I didn’t lose 3 pounds from yesterday. Obviously the scale says it but maybe Yesterdays was kind of fake news. Or maybe today’s is fake news. We will see tomorrow what the trend is. I think I have lost some because I think I look awful in the mirror. The extra poundage was filling my face out more. Arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

It is so discouraging when we are eating correctly and the scale doesn’t move! But don’t give up. Do you do monthly measurements? Sometimes my scale never moves but I will take my measurements and I will have lost an inch. Like what hell. How does that happen?!?!
Just a thought, I dont know what you have or haven’t done or tried im shooting in the dark so to speak. :hugs:

No, maybe I will try, I have never used measurements.

@Alisa I am jogging but not doing weight training, so doubt I am doing much muscle gaining :sob:.

My weight is always all over the place and sometimes I cannot understand why its going up when I’ve eaten healthily! But then…out of the blue it sometimes also just drops as long as I’ve stuck at the sensible eating diet. But weirdly those days when things drop don’t seem to stick in my mind as much as the days that I’ve gone up!
I’ve given up the keto as I’m too much a fan of fruit and veg. I think it’s the main thing I eat! Staying away from bread pasta rice sugar and processed foods though. Hoping this in shelf will be enough for progress!

180lb today. It’s a slow decrease but hopefully that makes it more sustainable.

Weigh in day is on my first day of vacation before I leave. Isn’t that special. :joy: I can see exactly how much weight I’ll gain on this trip. But it won’t be booze weight.

I’ve just received a new set of bathroom scales that also takes a body fat reading. I’m a bit confused as my body fat is 20% which is on the low side, but my BMI is 27, which is clearly overweight. I’m wondering how to interpret this in terms of my weight loss goal.

I guess you have a lot of muscle? Bodybuilders etc, have a high bmi, despite being not what a regular person would think of as overweight, which is of course is a flaw of the bmi.

Here I am
61.4 at the end of the day but not on an empty stomach (still have food getting digested from yesterday).
Tbh, I haven’t eaten anything today, just had my usual couple of coffees and a detox apple, lime&ginger juice. In the evening
So it’s probably a little less, though that’s mostly water weight, not fat.
I’m pretty satisfied. I’ve lost my 6.5 Covid kilos, I can wear my 20 years old jeans.
I have to start going to the gym in autumn.

I don’t swim nearly as often as I used to for the last two summers. Mostly because I got a bit lazy, but also because of all the jet skis, small ships and very fast (&furious :-))) AND dangerous speedboats.

The last 2 kg I managed to lose without much (if any) trouble. After 8 days in Rome, I didn’t binge (well, a couple of times, but for a day and not over 2,800 kcal) and sometimes practiced intermittent fasting.

Good luck on your journey to a healthier self!

(I don’t know why all of a sudden I don’t feel like showing my face, because I did)

Went up 3 pounds from my lowest weight in about 2 years. I get my steps in at work but I kind of stopped going so hard with my walking after work so I got back on it today and switched off between walking and running. Running felt amazing. A few months ago I was so heavy and out of shape I could barely do it and I felt so weighed down that it was hard to move… this time it was way easier and felt GOOD like I wanted to keep going so I am going to from now on run/walk/run/walk high intensity and try to get back to some strength training. I have a weekly free pass at a gym right by my house and I am gonna check it out on Thursday . I am gonna try to keep up with the exercise and healthy eating and hopefully go back down. I think a lot of it is just fluctuating because I fluctuate a lot but I definitely want to keep seeing the scale go down… fingers crossed
