Weightloss CHECK IN : dont give up (Part 1)

Breakfast : scrambled eggs and a small yoghurt. I shouldn’t be eating the yoghurt because its dairy and I’m trying to completely cut out dairy. I no longer use milk. I noticed a difference cutting it out. I use butter substitute nuttelex. So I am doing an experiment with this yoghurt to see if it bloats me.

I had a day off with Pilate’s because my muscles just could not do it. Very tight and sore today. I really need to be stretching properly . I substituted Pilate’s with a 5k walk around the lake this morning. Even doing that , my muscles were screaming . just my thighs , calf’s , and upper arms and neck muscles :joy: I’ve clearly never worked out consistently , even though I’m active everyday, ive never actually worked out properly before @DLS Donna I need your gym inspo photos for motivation lol :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye::hugs::tada:

Checking In I been slipping up for the past 3 or 2 days by overeating I might have gained.a pound or 2 I will get back up :persevere:

Thank you!! I know both in the same week :grin::grin: very cool. Itd be good if we can still come on here and discuss progress, stay accountable etc, I still have weight I’d like to lose and want to be more active as far as exercise goes too.

Well I hit my goal yesterday, so got off the 42lbs I initially wanted… but today is my official weigh in day and I’m another lb down :rofl: so already chipping away at the other 7lbs I wanted to lose, that’s now only 6lbs :grin: whoop!

So…
43lbs down :open_mouth:

I ordered a pair of shorts in a smaller size the other day (uk 12, not sure what that is in US sizes) and they arrived today, when I got them out the bag they looked really small and I thought no way would they fit me (although all my old size 14 stuff is starting to hang off me…) I even put them down on the table thinking it was pointless to try them on. But then I thought I might as well because even if they didnt fit I knew they would eventually so it would be good to have that as a sort of marker… anyway, tried them on and they fit perfectly! :grin: it was so weird they almost looked like something my daughter would wear :laughing: to my eyes anyway… a few other strange things are happening too, like when I’m sitting in my car it feels bigger, even my house feels bigger :laughing: I’ve got a necklace that I always wear and now that’s hanging much lower than it used to, I never thought I’d lose weight off my neck :rofl::rofl: sort of like that Alice in wonderland syndrome but all just because I am actually smaller so my surroundings seems bigger, it’s very odd though. :woman_shrugging:

Holy crap that smoothie sounds amazing!!! I need to try that out sometime for sure!! YUM!! That’s the fun thing, a banana with pb totally hits the spot for something sweet for me. Like it’s a treat or snack and really it’s on the healthier side of things. So I’m happy with it! Thanks for sharing the smoothie ingredients I’ll be sure to try it sometime!

226 lbs today down 2 lbs this week, understanding diet is key, having my cravings under control and smashing lots of water probably about 4 litres or more a day along with tea, also practice fasting but only to the point of being hangry then it’s time to start eating again :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes: key factor watching sodium intake, drink lots of water, calories in and calories out, eat more protein, watch carb intake. I mean realistically all it is how many calories you burn in a day so if you undereat you stay in a caloric deficit you will lose weight but other factors like sodium retention and water weight play a factor too. I’m glad everyone is on board doing there best :metal: for now I feel great, I’ve gotten down to 18.1% body fat and the work pays off, it’s all about consistency people if you stay consistent you will succeed at your goals :metal:

OK so my 3 day yoghurt / dairy experiment has proven time give me a result. I am swollen AF. My tummy looks 6 months pregnant. I now know I cannot have dairy. This is my tummy… And my weigh in is 71.kg

You are so VERY VERY welcome!! You are doing fantastically!!! I still plan on checking in on this thread regularly since I really am not quite to where I want to be. Yes, I’m getting closer to the newly set goal weight, but I’ve got a lot more to do to achieve the physique and build I hope to get to with time. I guess maybe once I get there it won’t be as much weight loss as it will be like gaining muscle or recomposition of sorts. But I love the people here and they have all been so supportive, so I hope I can keep posting too!

LOVED hearing about your new, smaller shorts story!! How awesome does that feel?!? I get excited when I tried on some of my older clothes that haven’t fit for so long and then I’m like WOW! HAHA. I’ve worn a few things with drawstring waists for example that I’ve worn when I was bigger. The drawstring being still in the more expanded size I have put on the shorts or pants and I’m like OH WOW! I was this big around the belly when I last wore this… holy cow!!!

I’ve experienced some strange things too. Like yesterday we went to our youngest daughter’s dance recital. It was the first time in well over a year since I’ve sat anywhere with a larger group of people. Anyway, well hubby and I saw our exes and spoke to them and I felt like I was being scrutinized and stared at!! They didnt say anything positive or negative either way, I just felt like they were staring at me! It just felt awkward. Maybe it was all in my head too. That very well could be and most likely the case. But still! They do know we quit drinking and I’ve told my ex about losing 30 some pounds.

Great job Ethan!!! You are rocking it too!! Woohoo!! And I agree with all you said and have been doing much of the same things as you… watching my diet and limited my carb intake and drinking plenty of water on a daily basis. Plus I workout a lot to help along the process a bit, haha.

Hey, hang in there!!! OK?! We are all here for you to offer our support!! Speaking from my experience and not that long ago, I too had the pregnant looking beer/wine belly. Mine made me look about 8 months pregnant and it sucked. I got asked about being pregnant. It was awkward and depressing and nothing fit right! But I’m offering support that it can change and get better! You can do it!!! ((((Hugs to you))))

Thank you :heart: I literally get asked how far along I am on a weekly basis if I wear clothes that are tight on my belly. So I wear alot of hoodies and flowy tops that arnt tight. I’m hoping now that I’m doing Pilate’s every day it will de swell.

Up a couple of pounds but still in weight range.

No too surprised since I’ve been eating out and lovin the food out here in Cali. I thought I was ordering healthy and we’re walking everywhere. I’m will not get me down. I’m sober. I’m not going to say “fuck it!” But I’m still going to do my best but enjoy myself too.

You’re welcome. I know how disheartening it is when people ask a woman that and you’re not. It actually would devastate me and then I be so down. Usually most people mean well, but damn it sure stings. I use to respond “on no I’m not.” And when got those comments during covid, I just blamed it on that and stress, usually not admitting to me excessive daily drinking Id do… There were some times where I had a beer or wine in my hand and they ask me when I was due! I was appalled, but always responded kindly even though I was dying inside. I never had the nerve to give some smart ass remark. Keep on going to pilates!! It will help. Stay positive too. You can and will do it!! I believe in you!!

I always thought Id lose weight when I take trips to Disney World long long time ago (pre drinking times) with all the walking but the eating always caught up with me!

I weighed myself this morning and I was 156.7, same as you! I haven’t been out of the 160’s in many years so that weight made my day, lol.

But you look so tiny! I think your weight is proportioned out right, where with me for some reason my tummy, boobs, and double chin are taking up all the fat real estate on my body lol :joy::yum:

How tall are you? I’m 5’7". I’ve always been muscular and not petite, lol.
