When I first quit I gained about 20 and was really worried about it. All I wanted was sugar and junk. Once I got my footing and my body was away from alcohol for a bit it came off and I’m back to eating sweets occasionally.
I read a article that was talking about how when we stop drinking the physical part is because of the sugar in alcohol so I’m assuming that’s why I have all of a sudden started eating all these sweets because I never have been real big on candy etc I always have drank too much pop and energy drinks but I’ll work on that another time lol too many isms at one time isn’t healthy lmao
Ya well you’re getting it
I never ate gelato before
I guess I was the one who encouraged you to post on here. Didn’t know you were going to post Gelato pics I’m in love with the chocolate peanut butter cup one. OMG it’s soooooo good.
Lol I’m sorry! It was my monthly treat! That peanut butter one is pretty dang good though. I still wanna try and find that cherry one you posted cause if we are being honest the hubs wouldn’t even get a bite of that one
Ya my wife didn’t like that one either. I think it was a cherry cheesecake or something hideous like that I blame her for not helping me eat any of it
I’m stalling on my 2.5 plank. I better go and get it over with
Weighed in at 182.4. Been doing more lifting now instead of just cardio and calorie counting seems to be going well. Spent a bunch of money on new clothes but it felt awesome doing it.
How often do y’all weigh in? I am trying to lose 13 pounds. I thought it would “fall off” when I get sober. It hasn’t. Had a lot of tests run and found that my hormone levels and other things were very off. Those are being treated and I am off my anti depressant for the first time in years. Hoping that all of that, healthy eating, and working out will continue to make a difference. I am down 6 pounds from about 3.5 weeks ago. It’s good to have another place to hold me accountable.
I like to weigh in Fridays and Mondays.
I guess I try to hold myself accountable for before and after the weekend. Lots of different theories about weighing in though.
I do everyday.
I weigh in once a month (after my period) at my local nutrition store and it gives a report of BMI and body fat vs muscle. At home I weigh every few days but don’t give it much merit.
I know! I feel like I fluctuate so much throughout the week! That’s a good idea to do it at a place with BMI!
Hmmm I should try that! I need to keep track of my fitness and I need to lose some weight - or probably better to say, get a better handle on my BMI. I should check out some local places and see who can do a scan.
Oh yes! I fluctuate so much during the week and with my cycle. That’s why I like the once a month. Normally same time and I’ll do the same routine on weight in day. Have you heard of the podcast Thick thighs save lifes. They have some wonderful casts and one on women and hormones and how it can change our weight week to week
@Matt i use 5 star nutrition. Y’all might have one up there but if not they have scales on Amazon that can do the same thing. There is an app for your phone and it connects to the scale
Oooooh ok I will check Amazon. Cool
Checking in here, did my 11k steps so far and stayed within my calorie budget for a 1.5 pound weekly weight loss. Now I just need to keep it up
Weighed in at 203.8.
Almost 4 pounds over weight loss goal range.
But I had a great day.
So what are ya gonna do!
Weigh in day at:
202.8
Not bad as far as I’m concerned.
Weighed in at 180 today! Just a few more lbs till i hit my goal
I’m definitely joining this thread, though I’ll weigh in tomorrow, not now after a curry! I have gained over half a stone over the past year since I stopped drinking. What’s that all about?!
To resurrect the scale/weighing conversation. I have a Withings Body+ - Digital Wi-Fi Smart Scale that I bought on Amazon. Weight, BMI, body fat, water, bone mass. Synchs with a phone app so you can track your progress and see trends. I really like it.
Except when I get results I don’t like…
