Thank you. And you too.
Iā€™m determined to keep off all the weight I lost. And being sober and no sugar helps a lot.

Thanks Kat! Were in this together, my sponsor, G, says maintaining and keeping it off will be harder than losing it. Need to choose my lifestyle thatā€™s supportive.
Congrats to you too, Progress not Perfection, as they say in the rooms :hugs:

Did do my weigh in this morning. I said the same and literally did not lose a thing since last week. Trying to build up motivation for a better exercise routine. Eating has been weird. Either I eat too much and alot of processed sugar foodsā€¦ or I rarely eat at all. Very strange. But will get a routine going soon I hope!

Well, I havenā€™t weighed myself today, but I am trying to ingest about 80% of a 2,000 calorie diet. Been exercising too, and intermittent fasting. I feel thinner. I can see my skin starting to firm up in places, which is nice, especially my age, I donā€™t want too many wrinkles yet /vain lol

Itā€™s really hard to lose weight! This is difficultā€¦I probably have lost maybe 2pounds, but at my worst I was like 30 lbs heavier than an average build. I have lost 10 of those 30 extra lbs. That took about 6 months.

Itā€™s been a long stint of not losing weight but actually slightly gaining weight, which I seem to have turn around for now

Like, I have coffee in the morning with some half n half. Then I donā€™t eat again until 7pm, I just drink water, and thatā€™s the last meal of the day, and I go to sleep 4 hours later. Trying to move my meal to 6pm, as that would be more ideal.

I also have a ā€œbenzo bellyā€ which is like a big beer belly, and I want to get rid of it. I need go start doing that planking challenge. The other day I did two reps of 1 minute eachā€¦I had also done other workouts before the planks, which I need to do the other way around, so I am less tired. Planks first.

Good luck to everyone. Itā€™s a struggle, thatā€™s for sure.

Congratulations on your progress thus far. My experience is that intermittent fasting, especially the extremism with which youā€™re approaching it, does not work. Youā€™re likely slowing your metabolism further by doing this. What works for me is a caloric deficit of 500-750 calories based on my total daily energy expenditure requirements. I am an avid weight lifter so for me that looks like 2123 calories a day regardless of when they are eaten. It is very important to track macronutrients on this plan as well. For me that means of my intake, 168 grams are carbs, 203 are protien, and 71 are fats. Doing this with consistency of exercise rather than fad challenges has worked wonders. Best of luck to you.

Itā€™s frustrating to not lose and Iā€™m with you in that boat. Iā€™ve been working out 4-5 times a week and being careful to watch what I eat for carbs and sugar. I guess I need to try harder :pensive:

Weā€™ll, I have arrived but not fully lost my tummy.
EA friend says, one can lose weight you just donā€™t get to say where it comes off. Guess Iā€™ve got some sit-ups in store for me now. Loving the endorphins on the elliptical lately!
Stay healthy and Letā€™s goooo : ))

Monday weigh in: gained 2 lbs from last weight grrr. But on the upsideā€¦ I actually began my workout regimen today, tracking my workouts and food intake. So hoping to see some changes over the next while if I keep at it

Down 9lb since the first. Slow and steady progress with a focus on retaining strength. Okay with the 1-2lb weekly losses.

Iā€™ve hit rep PRs on all lifts and compete on 2/20 so I am cautiously optimistic I can get down another 10 or so before then.

Recovery has been the biggest advantage of sobriety! I am so much less sore and find my anxious energy drives me (and the pup) to walk a lot more. Movement is so much better than ice baths in 30 degree weather!

Hi everyone. A big reason I stopped drinking was the negative consequences related to my health. Iā€™m trying to make generally healthier decisions and have definite weight loss goals. It helps being able to discuss this so Iā€™ll give weekly updates here as well. Thanks for all the motivation!

Lol thanks. Definitely more of a powerlifting focus. I am on a cut phase right now because I donā€™t like the fat build up so that may cross into the bodybuilding lines. I donā€™t focus as much on the title lol. I do a 4 day split chest/tri, back/bi, shoulders/core, and legs. Lifting 5 days a week with cardio at the end of each day.
