Time and trust and space it seems are the answers. They hide from delivery people too right now and also run from the dreaded aluminum foil. I did bring my visitor to their hiding spots so she could peek in at them so maybe that was a misstep I won’t repeat. They are such little loves with me.
You are correct that they had loud busy childhoods and I think I just need to respect their love of our peaceful place these days. They will socialize when and if they are ready. I appreciate you.
I talked to the cat behavioralist at the humane society and one of the things they recommended was this cleaner: Amazon.com
Cat’s want to go where their scent is, so if you can get rid of the scent they will be less likely to go in the same place. I haven’t tried it yet but will order some!
Update: the little kitty has been caught and is no longer on the streets. An employee at a pizza place in the shopping plaza was able to catch the cat yesterday, and turned it in to animal control.
The cat is currently at a vet having its injured tail tended to, and will be placed for adoption at our local animal shelter.
I’ve already called and sent an email expressing my desire to adopt the cat, as soon as it’s available.
You might try putting another kitty litter box/pan out. A vet tech was showing me the other day how about a cup of litter in a small pan was good enough.
It’s not what I do but it’s what she said was perfectly fine. @Soberbilly
Her Royal Highness posing for one of her last photoshoots. Tomorrow we say goodbye to this sweet old lady. Thank you for letting me share her with you all over the past few years.
When it’s their time all one can do is be escorts to the other side for them. She had a wonderful life here with you, I’m sure you will see her again and willfeel her presence often.
I am so sorry that you have to be saying goodbye to your little angel. Losing a pet is one of the most heartbreaking things. Just know that she loves you and appreciates how much you cared for her. Give her some pets for us
