Wild animals we adore

This guy was actually in the grass when Stubbs noticed and tried to go after him. I luckily stopped the dog from getting him and he is now hanging out by this log . Now I don’t particularly like snakes but since living in the country I’ve had to learn to deal with them. I also think I would have been much more grossed out by whatever Stubbs would have done to the snake had he caught him

We put a clear feeder up on the patio doors so my kitties could watch the birds. Today I got to watch them watch this fellow as he cracked the geometric code to fling his body in here.

That’s a young black winged demoiselle by the way. I think you guys call them ebony jewelwings. It’s very young and male, your one, if I am correct in identifying it. I walked a canalway recently where they were breeding and there were THOUSANDS of them. It was quite striking.

I seriously need my vision checked. Twins? Sure are bouncy and difficult to photo :face_blowing_a_kiss:

Saw this little guy (who was curious, but kept his distance) on our morning walk

Hard to see, but he’s dead center, staring from the brush

Then saw this family on our evening walk

Being the same area, I like to believe it’s that family with ticks from the spring, now flourishing :sparkles:
