Wild animals we adore

I seriously need my vision checked. Twins? Sure are bouncy and difficult to photo :face_blowing_a_kiss:

Saw this little guy (who was curious, but kept his distance) on our morning walk

Hard to see, but he’s dead center, staring from the brush

Then saw this family on our evening walk

Being the same area, I like to believe it’s that family with ticks from the spring, now flourishing :sparkles:

Western Banded Gecko that lives on the back side of my house. See it every morning when its still dark out but could never get a pic as they’re quite skittish. They’re nocturnal so the early mornings are the only time I see them.

The pro shop guys at work found baby snapping turtles emerging from the mulch

They drove them down to the pond bc it’s a 100 foot drop down a rocky cliff from where they were.

How did you know his name was Jack?

He said it as he was hopping by. It was windy though, so it was hard to hare him

Thought I was feeding a stray cat that i just never saw and was elusive turns out this whole time its been a raccoon. Not sure if the right thing is to keep feeding him but I feel like its harder for animals to get food these days since we took there habitat away from them or at least made things harder for them. So idk … for now i will keep putting food out there and I’m sure there is some other animals gettting some food as well. I’m surrounded by woods and have also seen rabbits , coyotes and a fox

At one point there was 2 of them out there and they were fighting over the food and making so much noise but freaking out about the noise at the same time

I think the one is starting to know I’m not a threat and I’m the one feeding them so we had this stare down for like 5 minutes and at one point rolled my blinds up on my door and just stood there and the raccoon was like what the heck am i looking at!

I’m so jealous!

My goal is to have a severely morbidly obese racoon friend.

Like, legit life goals.

Sit on my porch with my fat racoon friend and just watch the world go by. :joy:
