Women's hormonal roller-coaster

I had a 30 day long (26 or 27 was the place to be last 2 years lol). Think it was about this special moon we had. The night after he was there it started. Enormous but short period of cramps. The time when I drove to the dentist appointment. But sometimes I feel like doing normal life stuff is also a good thing to not focus too much. I go with you about the crying @Sabrina80
Hope it gets better now.
Good thing is that the period after day 2 is about getting glow and strength back normally to me.

Some days have passed and I’m back to my normal me
Yesterday I started working out again, the 1000th time I guess hehe. A mix of animal flow and bodyweight workouts I pay for. No YouTube trial, this time I take it seriously and together with my body, not against it.

I can confirm that. Had this experience several times in my life and you really better not gotta mess with us, the worst was PMS :see_no_evil_monkey: We were gold star bitches taking no bullshit, then hypersensitive crybabies, then back to normal and then conquering everything until the no bullshit bitch PMS started. Even the teachers at university didn’t dare to discuss with us when we were in the pre-menstrual bitch-witch mood :joy:

I’ve been tracking my cycles ever since I had a pituitary tumor removed in 2018, and honestly—cycle tracking has been such a game changer. It gives me real insight into my mental and physical states, how I handle stress, and even why I’m craving certain foods.

I’m curious—what phase y’all are in right now, and what are you noticing in your body and mood?

I’m currently in the luteal phase (the days leading up to my period), and here’s what’s going on:

Low energy and motivation
A little more emotionally sensitive
Craving chocolate and carbs-even booze
Feeling bloated and gassy
Mild back pain
Sleep has been off for the past two nights
Mood? Definitely a bit moodier than usual

Anyone else feeling it? Would love to hear how it’s showing up for you.

I don’t track my cycle but I do take note of the changes during the month. I’m 6 days before my period right now so I’m in my luteal phase as well.

The things I notice a week prior to my period (without fail) are:

-Sadness :smiling_face_with_tear:
-Cramping
-Terrible acne (I’ve always had acne and it only seems to have gotten worse as I’m approaching 40 - so definitely hormonal acne at this point :sob:)
-Hunger in general :joy:

I have been trying to avoid taking ibuprofen unless I’m in absolute pain. For the emotional and acne aspect, I’m still trying to figure all that out. :upside_down_face:

Glad for this thread as I have (strongly suspected by a gynaecologist) endometriosis.

I get angry near every period recently because of knowing how much pain and discomfort I’ll be in. I’m non functional for a week and bad physical PMS for a week beforehand. I absolutely hate it. It has already managed to disrupt life plans..

This is lot more than normal, please check it out with your gyn. Sorry you have to suffer so much. Sending hugs :people_hugging::people_hugging::people_hugging:

It’s honestly heartbreaking how many people are affected by endometriosis—it really seems to be on the rise.

I have a young co-worker who’s only 19 and already dealing with it. I worry for her, especially because my sister-in-law had to have a full hysterectomy due to severe endo (thankfully after having her kids).

While looking into options for my co-worker, I came across a really promising study on NAC (N-acetylcysteine)—a supplement that’s a precursor to glutathione and known for a ton of other benefits, too.

The study used 600 mg of NAC three times a day, and the results were pretty encouraging. It’s definitely worth a look

:link: Here’s the study

if you don’t want to read the whole thing, just scroll down to the “Discussion” section for a solid summary of the findings.

Here is a quick screenshot of the conclusion.

Here is a decent brand, quality tested by 3rd party

I so hate my irregular cycle. Last months were somehow more regular and now again not. Fucking hate the implications on my sugar which I cannot handle both mentally and physically. This is getting worse with age and it sucks. Fuck hormones.

I don’t know if you tried this but when I was having trouble with my cycles my dr recommend that I go on the birth control pill. It helped immensely with regulating.
