I do have the big book. I don’t understand it too well

Even that has got AA on the very first page so even an alcoholic can find it.

Not that I’m an overacheiving alcoholic, but I have a first edition reproduction, a third edition that I got at my first inpatient rehab, and a few fourth editions for studying and giving away,

Same here. It’s been 6 months for me, yesterday since I’ve stopped drinking and drugging. I’m open to it though. I might give it a try again.

I don’t own the Big Book, but I wouldn’t be opposed to reading the book and working the steps.

I do.

Big book thumpers used to annoy me. Now I’m becoming one.

Yes! And the 12 and 12 in a nice double holder- both full of thoughts and quotes from the rooms over the last several years of study meetings. Treasured possessions.

That’s the route I went. I still go to meetings on occasion (especially the We Agnostic one by my place), read from the book whenever I see something that relates to where I’m at, had a sponsor, and worked the steps. It all helps towards the goal of not drinking.

I do have the Big Book. I’ve not read much in it, keep meaning to. My recovery was guided early on by the psychiatric hospital system, so it was detox, then I was admitted to the psychiatric ward, then IOP for at least 2months. I ended up in IOP for almost 4 months. When I went back to work my recovery was guided and supported by my mental health team.

I have so many friends that found success in AA and through the Big Book. The 12 steps have been used in my recovery with my mental health professionals, with a different look. I have a decent understanding of the Big Book and I have nothing but respect for what I do understand.

Whatever it takes!

Yes, but t it’s lost :scream:

Let’s please keep this on the OP’s original topic. Off topic posts will be shifted over to derailment. If someone wants to create a topic to debate the merits of AA, they are free to do so, but that is not the subject of the OP’s original question.

I have 4th Polish edition of The Big Book.
I also have “daily reflections” and “meditations 24 hours/day”.
I’m also waiting to receive “day after day meditations” and the supplementary guide for better understanding the twelve steps program “a gentle path to twelve steps”.

I’ll interpret texts from all these to use them for my recovery from porn addiction.
