@Grumpybeard Ryan congratulations with the 3 months sober. For me the 3 months milestone always is the biggest hurdle.
@PuraLatina well done for the whole week! :facepunch:
That feels good isn’t it?
@CATMANCAM you have had your first therapy session. That will move your thoughts and emotions in all directions for a while. You are dealing with a lot and there’s not an easy fix for it. Setting bouderaries for your friend is a good thing. You are aware for the pitfall.
You can’t be his guardian angel forever. You are sustaining his habits this way as well?
I think you are strong! Don’t minimize yourself! You are working so hard! Please be proud of yourself, you deserve it so much! :heavy_heart_exclamation:

  1. Coffee. Up earlyish despite working a late shift later. Could have done with some more sleep, instead I’m going to go to the funeral service for a friend’s dad. I wish the friend and her hubby stopped drinking. But that’s another matter. I’m sober and clean. I’m working my recovery. One day at a time. That’s all I can do. Have a good week all, or at least as good as you all can. Love from Amsterdam.

day 8 checking in. SO thrilled that I made it through this weekend as it was my best friends 30th. I had a great time, everyone was hammered and up until 5am- I stayed up and laughed and had fun but I knew I didn’t need to booze as I wanted to be present. I opened up to a few about the fact I was quitting because of black outs and the people who MATTER were supportive. I didn’t listen to any who were not because they are people I will drop if I need to.

Here’s to another sober week (which is difficult in December as there are basically Christmas get together every night of the week until Xmas!)

This book is also good in making me remember why I am quitting for good (for the sake of my loved ones too - sometimes that’s even more powerful than doing it for myself)

Magical day at Xmas show yesterday, lots of carols, performing acts, orchestra with amazing lightening effects was spellbound for all the 3 hrs, no drinking before, no wishing the show would finish so I could go bar, just enjoying every moment.
Day off today, so I am going to visit the Homeless Charity I used to work with, and some present buying
@SoberWalker love your pictures and wow what a building, those front windows! best wishes for managing the more painful days
@ShadowFax blasting through 70 days well done, @Newlife5 for 2 weeks, @StarK31 on 5 days, @Grumpybeard on 90 days, @PuraLatina on 1 week
@anon52066378 great positive thinking from you
@Lisa07 I love your numeric catches :slightly_smiling_face:
@CATMANCAM your are stronger then you acknowledge for yourself, pleased you have decided about your friend. I would guess the start of Therapy shakes up a few emotions which are unsettling all part of the work of healing :green_heart:
@Charlie_C house looks lovely and festive

Have a good, strong 24 hrs :green_heart:

Good morning from day 2. Slept horribly and been up since 4am. But glad I didn’t drink yesterday despite bad anxiety. Since I’m up so early I’ll actually get in a workout before heading to the office. Trying to make healthier decisions.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Here is Monday morning and another long week of of work ahead of me. I had a quiet and productive and restful weekend and had no trouble at all staying away from the booze. I’m happy about that. Now to get back into the work routine as there is plenty to do there.

I wish you all a decent day and peace!
