Just received the call… My kid is crazy ill.
And kids arent supposed to have symptoms right… Fck what to do
Oh no
Take care of yourselves. Sending you positive vibes!
Mate ill tell you what to do. Don’t panic.
Stay calm.
Is it Corona? No point jumping to conclusions if you haven’t had it tested.
Kids can get it but do fight it off easier in most cases.
Getting panicky is not going to help him mate.
As ever Yoda!
Someone on a local Facetube page just posted the fact that 98. something % of people actually do survive and she got slammed for it.
People shouting her down about the percentage of people who won’t survive it. Saying she was just thinking of herself etc etc etc.
All she was doing was trying to inject some positive attitude into what is fast becoming a negative rampage across Facetube.
Yes, unfortunately, some of us will die.
Is shouting and moaning about it on the internet and causing panic going to stop that.
No.
We need to stay calm and help each other the best we can.
Worst is im not with him
I can totally understand that Mario. But if we panic we don’t think clearly, rationally. And at times like now we need to be thinking with clear heads.
I obviously don’t know your situation, can you get to see him just to reassure yourself.
If it’s any consolation mate, my eldest is in a house of self isolated students. I took her some shopping on Sunday but had to keep my distance.
Not nice when you could see all she wanted to do was give me a hug.
In the end she gave in and hugged me. Haha but not her sister.
Hey Joker. There is a type b flu going around as well that is really rough on the kiddos and thr adults who get it. Wasn’t included in the vaccine. It maybe that. Hang in there man.
I’ve seen this being recognized on some social media. Warning people to refrain from posting too much about over stocking on alcohol or how alcohol will “make it all better”, mentioning there will be a high number of relapses during this time and to be considerate.
Sad situation but at least the topic is getting some recognition.
Am doing a lot of Coronavirus response stuff at work today.
While I’m not personally worried about the impact on my health, I am getting to better understand the potential for widespread disruption and how easily it could all just get out of hand.
I’m also concerned about the hit to the charity sector (where I work). So many fundraising events are going to be cancelled at the same time as people are going to need more help. More competition for the same or less money. That means job losses which ultimately means less services… So more people in need.
I know there are lots of amazing people out there who will do their best to help each other, and also that people are remarkably resilient.
Grant me the serenity…
I saw it for what it was. Comic relief, mixed with a small bit of doom. Not sure who would flag that.
Feel free to message @moderators if you want to discuss any decisions, to avoid going into a debate and taking a thread off topic
Im good thanks. Been around long enough to know where that goes.
My local communities are already puling together and collating information about Isolators and people who can help out.
I must admit I thought the same.
I’m so sorry to hear this. Prayers being sent your way.
Very sorry to hear. Rest and fluids and try not to panic. Sending strength and healing.
