Many of our newer members may not be aware they can mute and/or ignore other members posts. This can even be done for members whose profile is set to private.

Click on your avatar
Click your user name
Select the ‘gear’
Scroll over to right and select ‘users’
Scroll down and add their username to mute or ignore.
When a member has been ignored, their posts will show as ‘post is hidden’.
You can also mute an entire thread and it will not show up in your feed. This feature is available at the bottom of every thread. Just click on “watching” and the other options come up.
Why would anyone want to block anyone here? From my experience everyone’s been really helpful and encouraging. I feel it would be quite triggering if I thought someone here dis that to especially without explanation.
First and foremost, we are all here for sobriety and community support. In early recovery, we are often very sensitive, easy to anger and generally touchy (I certainly was). So sometimes personalities can grate on you. Or you just don’t like the kind of advice someone gives. Or whatever someone’s reason is. The option is available if needing a break from someone.
Do know that people cannot see if someone has muted them or ignored them, so no harm in doing so.
