75 days of getting better at getting better!
Honestly. Every relapse may be a hard lesson, but it’s also a dangerous game
But is it the most dangerous game?
Here’s the thing, a relapse can go one of two ways: it can move you one step closer to “never again”, or it could be one step closer to death.
I only had one relapse before this quit. All the other times I quit, I knew I’d drink again. Before Mom passed and I used it as an excuse to drink, I had every intention of quitting forever but I had 11 more months of drinking to do.
@aircircle was discussing this very point with me the other day. You can look at your choices, every action) as being either a step closer or a step further away from a drink(insert DOC).
For porn addiction the number of steps to a relapse are minuscule. It’s not a substance, it doesn’t cost money, it’s normalized, it’s everywhere, it usually isn’t a life or death scenario, it’s so easy to justify.
I relapsed a lot before finding the support of this community. Amongst other online groups I’ve been a part of, relapse is a little too common and it is overloaded with people who want an immediate cure with little to no effort or they’re only looking to fix the physiological problems and not do the work to find what lies at the root of their problem. It was important for me to see that mentality but I had to separate from it for the sake of my sobriety.
Isnt the most dangerous game Human Hunting?
This all rings true, bro!
I haven’t sent the movie. However due to the quote I may have to. That is THE best quote I’ve heard
Feeling like i need to say to the forum that nothing will change if nothing changes. Get off your freaking lazy butt and get to work. No one falls into sobriety.
Does seem to be getting a bit repetitive.
I think the part that gets me is how surprised people are that they can’t get sober and literally do nothing to get there. Like that car ain’t gonna move if you don’t take it outta park.
All the, “no, that program isnt for me” smells like relapse to me
A relapse is a stretch if they don’t actually quit using…
As has been said on umpteen times " you have to be prepared to do absolutely anything"
Yeah, didn’t get that part completely right
Half measures availed us nothing. We stood at the turning point. We asked his protection andcare with complete abandon. Here are the steps we took, which are suggested as a program of recovery:
If youre getting offended over a question about working a program, you might be an alcoholic.
Or giving yourself another excuse to get wasted.
Seriously! Dont be so Wo Is Me, peeps!
