I am only joyous because Christmas is over. I strongly dislike that holiday and am grateful to see it go every year. Possible reasons: no children of my own to see the joy through, my post-Catholicism, family obligations, or the intense pressure to be joyful.

Why can’t they just let a Hoof feel how a Hoof wants to feel? Answer, they can! The days of grin and bear it are over. Get cozy in your sad and see how you feel when your birthday nears. I’m sorry you are down. My funk lifted exactly one day past Christmas but I get it every year. Hang in there Hoof. (this box contains the end of the Christmas season and therefore joy and maybe candy canes).

I’m 23rd of January and my other half is 3rd of December, my mums 5th of January and my Godfather is 4th of January and our wedding anniversary is 19th of December, so right royalty screwed and an expensive 2 months

Over on the Daily Gratitude thread the subject of “Damp January” came up (cutting back vs the “dry” of not drinking at all), and this lead to joking about “Moist January” (given the tendency of some to shy away from the word “moist” because of the “ick” factor–an “ick” word for an “ick” idea). This, in turn, led to some ideas for “M.O.I.S.T” acronyms.
