Hi,

I can’t offer guidance but maybe we can atleast talk each other through it, I’m only on day 6 and up to this point I’ve nearly driven myself crazy in my own head with no one to ask questions to, are you feeling …, have you.., it’s been hard but here I am

Welcome to talking Sober Disturbed! You’ve come to a great place for mutual support and for gaining knowledge about addiction, about recovery, about how to become and stay sober. We’re in it together here and for me that has made all the difference between failures in the past and success now.

Take your time to have a good look around the site. Read. Participate. Learn. Recover which is something different form just staying sober. We need to build ourselves a life we don’t feel the urge to run from. How that exactly works for you is up to you, but there are many common elements. Peer support is one of those elements and I found that right here.

So welcome again, glad to meet you and hope to see more of you. Here’s some threads that can be useful early on. Wishing you all success friend.

I am good, motivated and looking forward doing this. Have a gym date planned tonight, on Friday evening the place is almost empty including the sauna.

I want a clear head and as William Porter (Book: Alcohol Explains) states it: first stop drinking, then wait for the effects to wear off and then take stock of your situation.

The booze is giving me nothing anymore, I even don’t like the taste! All it can take eventually is my job, my house, my relationship and my own mental and physical health.

So yeah, something clicked. How about you this coming wknd?
