New here. Really struggling

I just relapsed. I feel like a dumb shit. I was doing good. 124 days. I’m so ashamed of myself. So ashamed.

Ugh, that sucks, I hated those feelings of shame and regret. Your 124 days are not lost, get back to sobriety and remember how good it feels. You never have to feel that shame again. :people_hugging:

Hey @iwasneverreallyhere,

Please don’t be too hard on yourself — relapse doesn’t erase the 124 days you fought for. Those days still count, because they taught you what works and what doesn’t. Shame is heavy, but it’s also a sign you care and want better for yourself, and that’s powerful.

You’re here, reaching out instead of disappearing — that’s huge. Most of us have been there, and it doesn’t make you weak; it just makes you human. Take a breath, reset, and keep moving forward. You’ve done it before, and you can do it again. One day at a time. :yellow_heart:

Getting clean again after a relapse can be hard, but the people on here are right; of you can stop again right away, you will learn from this slip and be better at recovery in the future. What was the situation that caused you to relapse? Getting rid of dealers’ phone numbers is really important. So is avoiding people who use, which can be very hard. A lot of recovery is about not putting ourselves in situations where we’ll have to rely on our will power because, let’s face it, we don’t have any, when it comes to drugs. Also not drinking is pretty important.

If there is one thing I have realised, it is not to be too hard on yourself. You did well to get to that stage in the first place. Now dust yourself down and try again and this time use 124 as a milestone to try and beat. If you know what triggered you then next time you can deal with it better!

@Reighn I agree totally man, barriers. Like if you’re trying to lose weight, you probably wouldn’t be buying cake or going to the cheesecake factory lol
