Welcome @Linda6 , @Sobanoodle and @Jujubean !!! Early days, ooph, take a lot of concentration for sure. I spent as much time as I possibly could on here, reading, interacting, learning …TS is full of helpful people and info and someone is always around.

I found this book really helpful early on in my journey, maybe you will as well… This Naked Mind by Annie Grace.

Most importantly, take it one day, one hour, one minute at a time. Stay in the moment and resolute. :people_hugging::heart::raising_hands:

Thank you and thanks for a helpful tip on a book!

I can’t believe i am back day 6th now after all i have learned during my last 15+ years fighting for my sobriety, AA and sponsorship experience, therapy and all that.

Living proof that once addicted, no matter how smart, if you don’t work on sobriety, the addiction will get you

Hello, 35 years here & I still remember where you are….I was 30 years old & totally ready to get sober for good & was willing to do whatever it took….which for me meant letting go of my career & Leaving Southern California to a small town in Northern California & starting over ….AA & Alanon meetings every day / night for my first 3 years…never missed, priority 1….getting a good sponsor & it helps a lot if you believe in God or a power greater than yourself ….spirit of the universe…I continued school & working & all my new friends were either in the program or Church….it worked ….35 years…online Zoom meetings awesome & You tube speakers …Life is so much better sober….Rick

So glad about your promise to yourself about doing 5 mins at least on your sobriety, because that’s how I slipped up last time - not staying committed to my community. AA is not for me, but this community works wonders. When I say AA is not for me, I don’t mean that it is a bad thing, just based on my childhood trauma it’s not a wise choice. In fact, maybe I should write a post about this  Congrats on your 5 days.

That’s fantastic Linda, I’m glad it’s going well for you! You’re putting the work into your sobriety :flexed_biceps:t2:

I’m okay, thanks for asking. Lots of stresses at the moment, but I’m managing. 72 days alcohol free now. It feels good watching those numbers starting to stack up a bit :slightly_smiling_face:
