Day 1 - online support?

Hey, finally made the decision to stop smoking last night so today is the day! There’s no support groups near me so seeking other options to help keep my sobriety this time!

Anyone else at the start of their journey and looking for some online friends to help keep up the momentum and support each other?

Welcome!! This forum is great. Read and post as much as you can, especially in the first days of sobriety. This post in particular is extremely helpful:

Marijuana Anonymous also has online support groups that you can check out, all totally free. Meeting Finder - Marijuana Anonymous

This FAQ post has a LOT of helpful links to various threads here at TalkingSober:

You got this! Keep checking in and work the program. If you put in the effort, you will reap the rewards. It’s not easy, but it is simple. You can and will do this!

Welcome to the forum Jess! Way to go with your commitment to start your journey today. This is a wonderful space to meet others going through the same struggles and gain support and advice.

Check out the Grumpy A-holes (quitting cigarettes/ nicotine products) (Part 2) thread.

For me - I used a hypnosis app and found that it was very helpful when I was ready to fully commit.

I’m very tired from the lack of sleep (only managed 2 hours) so I woke up very emotional, so I joined a meeting online and beat the cravings! Day 2 has been worse that day 1 but hoping I wont feel this way everyday
